@MattWhitmanTMBH Now compare the airline and airport infrastructure. I don’t disagree that “cool stuff” like this is great for society, but America chose air travel instead of trains and the value and cool things are there.

I say this entirely apolitically. I'm concerned that everyone else is building cool public stuff and manufacturing useful things, and maybe we're not into that as much anymore.

5 years ago… Elon Musk could do no wrong by democrats. They loved him. People still trusted the media and they hated Russia. They wanted America first but overlooked some things because of how cheap prices were for everything What changed? Covid mixed with money printing, corruption in government, and distrust in mass media Trump and Elon almost singlehandedly took down trust in legacy media by calling almost everything a lie (true or not). The alternative is free speech from random people on the internet. Fast forward to today and you have people trusting armies of social media influencers over journalists. It’s brilliant if you want to move your political agenda along and break down the 4th estate.

@DJSnM My understanding (and is the case for my airport) is that for a runway to be used as a taxi route it needs proper markings.

@DJSnM This is not strictly true Scott. There will always be a mandatory hold position sign at runway intersections and typically (though not in this case) a hold short line as well. I’d love to see the MDW sign and marking plan.

The small jet was taxiing on a runway when it crossed the active runway. When runways cross there's not the usual hold short markings that mark where a taxiway joins a runway, just a white line. Also missing from this is where they make the plane sit still for a long time and move all the other traffic around them/

Been doing some dusting and cleaning and I just wanted to show off a bunch of memorabilia I got from Siege creators, fans, and devs. It's all so very sentimental to me and I hope those that gave me these can be happy knowing I still have it.

Axel Rudakubana was given a 52-year sentence. Average cost to keep someone in prison is £50,000+ a year. So, in addition to murdering and injuring dozens of people, he will cost the British taxpayer over £2.5 million. Not only that, given the level of security he will require to avoid "prison justice" the cost is likely to be much higher. Why are we paying to keep this monster alive?
