@BrianCTabatabai There are many Middle Eastern and Latino restaurants and businesses that operate outside open fire grills. Many in my community who rely on their businesses to support their families and children. Are we shutting them down too during these “red flag warnings?”

I love to BBQ. My kids love it. If any elected official in LA wants to ban backyard BBQ’ing because of “fire safety” reasons but says zero about the illegal dangerous public fires, illegal encampments or electrical theft happening everyday in our communities, that elected official really hasn’t a clue about public safety or our LA culture in general.

@BornToChill Most candidates who accept never qualify. Some are no longer eligible (Mrod doesn’t have a candidate qualified to be on ballot against her) and others like McOsker could opt not to use matching funds out of respect for city $ since he’s gonna get dictator margins regardless.

@BornToChill Accepted does not mean qualified. It simply means the candidate has agreed to participate in the program and related limitations. They haven’t qualified in any way until ethics approved their submission (check will be issued shortly after & amount will appear on site)

She has raised a large sum in unitemized contributions ($54.5k), but it's not unprecedented. Pratt's $131k is. He also has raised a higher percentage of his $ from smaller donors, 24.4% vs. her 18.5%. x.com/UnrigLA/status…

Yeah factually a month ago, she raised $272,964. If $65k was her own money, that'd still be $207,964. Still a respectable total and doesn't change her position in the race at all.

Nithya’s campaign did exactly what it was intended to do. Block Rae Huang and prevent any real change from happening. Rae Huang was asked by her community to run. Nithya was asked by the people who want to ensure their profits continue.
