The League of Women Voters has come out against California redistricting. This so-called "good government" group has decided to align themselves with Trump and his mid-cycle power grab. If he gets his way, Republicans will scientifically engineer state maps so that Democrats can never win the House again-- THAT is who the @LWV is protecting. This fight is binary: you can join Republicans rigging the maps because Trump feels *entitled* to more seats. Or you can join Democrats who will NOT unilaterally disarm-- and who are simultaneously seeking a nationwide ban on gerrymandering. You can't be for "good government" while simultaneously helping Trump. Someone should let the @LWV know.

Today I tried popping popcorn on the stove for the first time in my life. And let me tell you, microwave popcorn is a scam. 1. There were no unpopped kernels. 2. There were no burnt kernels. 3. It's almost as fast and easy as sticking a bag in a microwave. Pour a tablespoon of oil per 1/4 cup. of kernels into the bottom of a thick pan--preferably with a long handle, and drop a few kernels in. Cover the pot and set heat on high. When those pop, add your butter and the rest of your kernels (about 1/4 cup of kernels per quart of popped). Re-cover. Just slide the pan back and forth after they start popping, which should take about a minute or less. Continue shaking until the popping nearly stops. That should take a couple of minutes. You're done. Whole process start to finish is 5 minutes and it's better results. Also a whole lot cheaper. And you know what kind of oil is being used.
