As usual, the more you try to explain something the more you give people to misinterpret, but here I go.
So many people took the sample argument as us assuming donk would fall off, when it's actually not assuming anything at all, including not assuming that he would just always keep going at the same level at every tournament.
If you wanna be consistent at all, you have to look at what actually happened and not play what ifs like what if donk had a better team and went further.
