ABS confirmed in #Brewers at #Cubs (Bot 2). Milwaukee Brewers challenged the ball call on Brandon Sproat's pitch to Michael Conforto. Ball confirmed. HP: Derek Thomas | Upheld 76.3% (29/38). Later: Michael Conforto strikes out swinging.

Broadcast has now updated the audience — the Brewers retain the challenge despite “losing.” The call cannot be overturned retroactively, obviously.

I’ve yet to see this happen: Milwaukee challenged a called ball. The ABS replay indicated strike, but the home plate umpire announced Milwaukee had lost the challenge and the pitch would remain a ball. Bizarre and potentially consequential in a divisional rivalry.

Emil Morales (LAD) would be a slam-dunk top 25 prospect with a steadier hit tool. He continues to produce in Single-A, slashing .333/.404/.578 with 30 RBIs in 31 G. He went 9-for-23 (.409) with three doubles last week and could be promoted to High-A soon.
