@MouinRabbani They were part of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottomans attacked, invaded and occupied others. Are you saying Turkey reserves the right to invade Gaza and liberate it from Hamas?

A historically illiterate analogy. If Palestine had lost 25% of its territory in 1948 in response to instigating a world war that cost 60 million lives and that continues to serve as a by-word for depravity almost a century later, this charlatan might have a point worth discussing. As it happens Palestinians lost 78% of their homeland in 1948, during which at least 75% of its population was ethnically cleansed, as a result of their country being occupied by Great Britain during the First World War and subsequently governed by London to promote the interests of an ethnonationalist ideological movement that originated on a different continent. In sharp contrast to Nazi Germany, Palestinians didn't attack, invade, or occupy any foreign territory, but were themselves invaded, occupied, and dispossessed. And like those in occupied Europe, they responded accordingly. Does this historically illiterate charlatan really expect the Palestinian people to just roll over and die?
Dr. Maalouf ‏@realMaalouf

After losing World War II, Germany lost 25% of its territory and 14 million Germans were ethnically cleansed from Eastern Europe. And yet there hasn’t been a single case of Germans hijacking planes, blowing themselves up, or committing terrorist attacks like Palestinians.

@JezziiB With healthcare, prevention is better than repeated surgery. Are you suggesting that because you are unable to make good choices regarding your own body that the healthcare system should include sterilisation to prevent you from making more poor choices? I agree.

When I was 20 I had an abortion because I knew that I absolutely could not have a baby completely broke and with my alcoholic boyfriend I had to sign a waiver acknowledging that I could die from the procedure and I looked at the nurse scared and said “I didn’t know I could die from this” And she said “Honey, you’re a lot more likely to die from carrying and delivering a baby than from having an abortion” Abortion is healthcare

To this day, and for a million years to come, Palestinians remain the people whose lives are the least respected. A Palestinian is treated as a tenth-class citizen, not even third-class; a class whose life and death mean nothing. For over 70 years, Israel has been committing massacres against us, trampling over our bodies, and burning us. Yet, when we seek to defend our stolen lands, despicable animals and monsters like this emerge, claiming that Israel not dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza is a form of 'restraint.' Truly, I am grieved that I still live on a planet as vile as this one.
Joel Berry@JoelWBerry

After reading this, it’s a miracle of restraint that Israel didn’t just nuke Gaza off the face of the Earth in response to what happened on October 7th.

@PeterCronau By rich you mean the working class, right? 40%+ of their taxes already go to welfare recipients. Welfare dependency is an illness. A product of a failed government that punishes those who work so others can cheat the system.

With one-in-seven families forced to regularly go without a meal, maybe the rich could be so kind hearted as to throw them a few extra pennies, if that is not too bothersome to ask.
Penny Allman-Payne@senatorpennyqld

JobSeeker is nearly $300 a week below the poverty line. Immiserating people on welfare is utterly immoral and makes it even harder for those who can work to find a job. We're sick of Labor crying poor when the 1% grow their wealth in their sleep. Tax the rich. Raise the rate.

That argument is weak because the Bible can be taken out of context just as easily as any other religious text. Any scripture can be twisted when someone ignores history, language, and intended meaning. That is not a problem unique to the Quran or the Bible, it is a problem of interpretation. The real issue is not the text itself, but how selectively people choose to read it to fit an agenda.

People often say Christianity has extremists too. Fair point, every religion has people who distort its message. From 2000 till date, we have seen groups carry out attacks in the name of Islam and jihad, even though they do not truly represent Islam itself. So the question is simple and uncomfortable. What is the Christian equivalent of these men who created these deadly groups to commit crime in the name of Islam

@commiepommie Those are rookie numbers compared to China. China has repeatedly invaded Vietnam (latest being 1979) with an estimated fatalities of 10 million Viet deaths. China (CCP) is the only country to invade someone to protect a genocide (Khmer Rouge) Selective memory perhaps?

Are you forgetting history? Do you now know history at all? Between 1 to 2 million Vietnamese were killed due to Japanese occupation during WWII. Over 3 million Vietnamese killed due to the U.S. during the American War (Vietnam War). Selective memory perhaps?

I am a Muslim and I am religious. Many say Islam is the root of all troubles and quote some phrases from the Quran, but they probably never opened one. Like in every religion, it gives you what you are looking for. Some evil people are using it to manipulate others and promote personal agendas. But it is a beautiful religion. The Quran opens almost every surah with the phrase: “In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful”. That’s what I take from Islam. Mercy and compassion.

If not for Chinese solar panels, most Nigerians households won’t be able to afford a solar power plant at home. Try asking for price of European solar panels and your mind go touch ground. We should be grateful to China for making life easier for us.
