Jesus assures us that the faith of a mustard seed (the tiniest of seeds) has the power to uproot evil and to transform our lives and the world in which we live. Never underestimate God’s power! The request of the Apostles should be our daily prayer: “Lord, increase my faith.”

St. Augustine knew that without trust in God’s mercy, we would despair: “For great and numerous are my infirmities, O Lord, but your medicine is mightier.” Repentance, prayer, the Holy Eucharist, and the Sacrament of Penance are the most effective medicines to heal our wounds.
