The US is not in Islamabad to negotiate with Iran. The US does not do negotiations, as the US does not want peace with anyone. What the US wants is to dominate the globe through illegal wars. This is why, instead of sending its best and seasoned diplomats from MIT or Harvard, Trump sent in a failed author, a relative, and a warmonger with absolutely no credibility. This is not foolishness; Trump is doing this for two reasons. First, he wants you to believe that he is a fool and an unhinged lunatic who is being controlled by Israel—which is fundamentally false. Secondly, there is no need to waste money and time on seasoned diplomats when you are not going there to negotiate. The US is only in Islamabad to buy itself time and breathing space. The US is taking time to reassess its military capabilities and try to incorporate what it has learned so far from the war into its military arsenal. So, there is no need to be all fancy and send in your best to negotiate. Even if a ceasefire is agreed upon, it will only be because the US feels it is low on stockpiles, or that its chances of continuing the war and coming out with any advantage are low. But they will return after the elections for even heavier strikes. The only way out for Iran is to test a nuclear weapon—or anything at all that can deter the US. It is then, and only then, that the US will be contained. And even then, I still doubt the US will agree to back down. I strongly doubt the US will ever agree to exist in a world where there will be peace and prosperity.
