Adults must teach kids to stand on their own two feet. It’s much easier to blame others or to compare situations, but they should be using that energy to compete. Teach them to take responsibility for their actions & earn what they want. It’s a lesson with a lifetime of benefit!

Hoping all OFAM buses return home safely tonight with memories, pride, and a District & Area Championship! 🏐🏈🏆
Good luck to our football team tonight as they look to wrap up an outright district championship.
Also good luck @VB_Bobcats in round 2 tonight!
Big day for the bobcats.
Uncoachable vs. Coachable
Uncoachable players:
-Take it personally
-Feel they’re being singled out
-Become very defensive
Coachable players:
-Open to feedback/criticism
-Want to be coached
-See it as a way to get better
If you’re not playing well/consistently, please don’t complain about what you think you deserve, what isn’t fair, how coach has let you down. You let yourself down when you chose not to get in the weight room, not to practice on your own, not to have a real plan for improvement.
PLAYERS: It's hard to hold your teammates accountable if you are not holding yourself accountable. Do what's right. Set the standard. Be the standard. Don't just tell teammates what to do, but show them how it's done.
Leaders need to speak up when teammates:
Get unfocused
Are selfish/disrespectful
Blame others
Lose morale
Get lazy
Take shortcuts
Make bad choices
Leave locker room messy
Need a buffer between another player & coach
Stir up conflict/drama
Continue talking while coach is talking
