@THEStevenVoss @WrestlePurists He says what info he has gotten, then has to add, "but things could change as always."
Why?
Cos wrestling fans like to selectively forget "plans change, pal" so they don't have to acknowledge it's possible for Meltzer to be correct, but then the situation changes.
English

@WrestlePurists How does anyone take this guy seriously? He purposefully never says anything definitively to give himself an excuse for being wrong. When he does say something concrete, he’s typically wrong. 😂

“Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show.
If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June.”

Bear Bronson says he felt like a signed extra during his time in AEW:
“So if I could explain the difference between [AEW & TNA], and I’m not throwing any shade here but when I was with AEW, in all of five years from start to finish, I felt like a signed extra, if that makes sense. Where you’re just kind of there. Whether you’re there or not, it doesn’t really make a big difference.
And on the complete other end of the spectrum is with TNA, I actually feel like an important part of the piece moving forward.”

@AccessTheAnimus @AsHNewT The original had outfits with perks, but I just know Ubisoft is going to make this shit ''killing an enemy restores your health'', or something else that is absolutely broken.

While announced as an action adventure game and "NOT an RPG", 🏴☠️ Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced 🏴☠️ will seemingly still feature perks tied to weapons and gear.
Is this something you still appreciate in the game or could do without?

@zen_thee_god @Pedroyasmin5804 @dajosc11 I was completely neutral to him because I couldn't get into the general wwe product just to watch any one particular wrestler.
I never thought Jade was exceptional, but I'm glad for her she's doing do well in wwe.
I still love Hobbs and am glad he's getting the bag.
English

@Pedroyasmin5804 @dajosc11 I’m not mad I understand why he left but literally no one cared about him this much until he left similar to how once jade left all the aew fanboys started saying she sucked or how now they’re saying powerhouse Hobbs was mid the whole time because he’s gone

@VPVillain @Davil555 @DirtSheetRadio People within the fan base critique them all the time. The women’s booking, Darby winning the title, the overruns, PPV length, commentary, Jericho, etc. I don’t know where this talking point comes from.

@Davil555 @DirtSheetRadio Then what's with the weird flaming of AEW fans?
English

@VPVillain @DirtSheetRadio I stopped watching WWE in 2002 so i’ll pass on the criticism
English

@Davil555 @DirtSheetRadio AEW often drops the ball on what I consider to be ready-made, low-stakes, fun storylines. Even times when they've done a fun story, I find myself wishing they'd invested in it more cos it could've gone so much further than they took it.
Your turn to critique WWE.

@AutismCapital @Pirat_Nation For now... While they need more people to sign up. Then once they've got enough users hooked... They raise the prices... And limit # of users on one family plan... And introduce YT++ which has no ads, while yt+ will now have "less ads"
We've seen this formula already.
English

@Pirat_Nation Nobody wants to hear this but YouTube premium is actually a great deal. You can split a family plan with 6 people being it to like $3/mo per person and you get no ads, auto skip ads, and YouTube Music which is actually as good if not better than Spotify so you need one less sub.

@blazed2324 @BackupHangman I want them to bring it back by someone winning two mid-card titles. They should establish it as their second world title, but it only exists/reaches that status when it's formed by two other titles - any singles titles, not just the international and continental.

@sw_holocron Canon shouldn't be a thing. Creators should be able to make whatever stories they want just like they used to in the old EU
English

The canon Star Wars comics got away with a lot in the early days of the Disney era, says writer Jason Aaron.
“I think we benefited from the fact that there was so much going on when we launched that book. Disney had just bought Lucasfilm. They were going from not having done a movie in a while to now doing a whole bunch of movies and TV shows and everything. And we kind of snuck through the doorway. We were the very first new thing that came after that.
“We wanted to grab for big important beats. We wanted the book to feel like you needed to read it. Like this was important. This is not just what they did on some random Tuesday between the movies. There’s a lot of big beats that happened between A New Hope and [Empire Strikes Back], and we wanted to grab for as many of those as we could. And I think we were able to get some of them just because we snuck in so quickly.
“I think if that had happened six months later, they probably would have said no to a lot of those things, but I think there was so much going on. They were like, sure, you could do that beat where Darth Vader hears the name Skywalker for the first time in relation to this mysterious kid who blew up the Death Star. We’ve got Luke Skywalker fighting Boba Fett. And we’ve got Jabba the Hutt and Darth Vader meeting and all that kind of stuff. I think even a few months later they would’ve said, no, you can’t do any of that, but it was benefited from sneaking in. Sneaking out of the gate really quickly.”

@CinemaTweets1 I don't have a take on the film - haven't seen it yet.
But I do love in your review you say how it's hitting us over the head saying we need to unplug, and then you basically say, yes I hear that all the time on 24/7 cable and my news feed I'm not unplugging from.
English

@CinemaTweets1 I wonder if the film was meant to be corny or campy as some might say. I think sometimes ppl forget not all cinema has to be ~cinema~
English

It pains me to write that I unfortunately didn’t find Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die (🌟🌟) to be an enjoyable viewing experience. I say this as someone who absolutely loves Sam Rockwell & director Gore Verbinski. I also say this as someone who’s desperately looking for reasons to positively promote cinema. But my number one objective in running this account is to maintain credibility with those who read my reviews. All of that is to say I can’t in good faith recommend this movie because I found the story unoriginal, the filmmaking fake, and the acting underwhelming.
The story here follows Sam Rockwell, who plays a man from the future that is now visiting a diner in Los Angeles for the 117th time. Why? Rockwell’s time traveling, bomb-strapped, fast-talking “future man” is recruiting a team of random, average folk to help Rockwell fight against phone addiction and AI takeover. The story sort of dovetails into multiple threads that give us backstories on the patrons Rockwell recruits on his 117th trip, while also synthesizing these backstories with Rockwells present mission- which is, as I mentioned, to break the societal phone addiction & impending AI takeover.
Gore Verbinski’s filmography has an incredibly wide range: the highs are high & the lows are low. On one side of the spectrum, films like Pirates of the Caribbean & Rango (which won Gore an Oscar) demonstrate that when Verbinski gets it right, few in the industry are better. Films like The Lone Ranger or even The Mexican might suggest that Verbinski’s “floor” can go a little lower than you’d expect. But that massive range within Verbinski’s filmography is a good sign to me because it’s a sign that he’s a director who’s always willing to take risks- even if it results in films that don’t meet expectations. Such is the case with Verbinski’s latest. He takes risks here, but most don’t pay off.
For starters, the story here is just way too straightforward & way too in-your-face. As if I’m not already exhausted enough from listening to every talking head on cable TV scare us into how bad our phones are for us, mixed with every think-piece in the world that lectures us on how AI will replace our jobs & end our lives. I get it: the world is in a fucked up state. But this story sort of hits you over the head with the obvious over & over & over again. For example, Rockwell’s opening monologue in the diner of startled patrons is totally forgettable. I didn’t find it funny or clever in any real way & instead it felt like a Boomer screaming up at the sky about how our phones & AI are ruining everything. We already know they’re ruining everything. Say something more interesting about where we are or give us something to chew on- don’t just complain endlessly with no meaning.
It’s not just that the story is incredibly obnoxious, unoriginal & lacking any semblance of strong writing, it’s that the filmmaking is also extremely disappointing. The lighting & production design in this entire film caught my attention because I couldn’t ignore how bad everything looked. Not a single set, not a single scene, looked like it was shot anywhere but on a soundstage in Burbank. Nothing about the filmmaking- nothing about the camerawork- interested me. I found the editing borderline distracting, including & especially during Rockwell’s monologues, in which we were deprived of basically any continuous shot- it was just constant cutting.
And mixed within subpar writing & poor filmmaking is just flat-out bad acting. That includes Sam Rockwell. I’ve long admired Rockwell’s body of work & I think that when he wants to be, he’s one of the best actors in the industry. But this performance was- dare I say- corny. I also think every actor in this film suffered from the aforementioned fake filmmaking. You could feel actors in this movie acting against green screens and fake backdrops. I think at a certain point, too much technology in the making of a film hurts the actors. This is one example.
If you’re reading this review, I would skip this film.
