I don't read many newsletters, but I read every one of @tibo_maker. Probably because it's written in very short and readable format and the content is always valuable. Thanks Tibo!

That's a really interesting take, VP, and I agree with a lot of it. However, I do think that those who completely ignore the impact of AI will be left behind and their jobs will be in danger. But if they level up using AI and combine it with their own experience, uniqueness, and creativity that’s innate in each and every one of us, then they will be safe and even thrive in the new economy. Being aware is important, but I don’t think a dystopian apocalypse where everyone loses their jobs is coming soon!

Is our future all doom & gloom with AI? Allthough I agree with most of the doom scenarios laid out in this interview. I disagree with the timeline. "99% of the jobs will be gone in 2-3 years" That's crazy and I suspect the Dr. here is making these crazy timelines with the intention of waking people up and making the problem of AI Safety more top of mind with people. I don't think that's bad intentions. Working with AI daily, I don't think current AI technology (transformer models) will take us to super intelligence. It is very good at taking in data and giving that data back to you, it is very bad at creating new knowledge. I am betting on a future where, AI is used as a tool to improve human productivity, at least for the next 10 years. There is still so much usefull tooling to be build with current technology. AI will not eliminate 99% of the jobs. There will be new jobs and some jobs will increase. There are many jobs where an AI could do it, but we will value human made more. For example, taking the example from in the video. Podcasts. Yes, technically an AI could replace @StevenBartlett. But I would rather listen to the "real" Steven, hearing his "real" opinions and thoughts. Instead of the perfect, mass produced content created by "AI-Steven". I think both types of content will have there place. Or what about sport teachers? Sports is not purely functional, it's more and more social. A human teacher is crucial here. Or Hospitality? Yes, we'll have robots in McDonalds, but we'll value true human hospitality in other occasions even more. I choose to be an optimist, if done right, AI & Robotics have the ability to solve one of the biggest issues in macro economy, decreasing birthrates and by effect decreasing productivity. If done right, AI & Robotics will massively increase productivity, creating a new era and prosperous economy. Taking all the jobs we don't want to do, leaving time for more passion projects and side hustles. Eventually, everyone will become an entrepreneur. That being said, I do see real risks in the near future. Just like the internet & mobile phones made us into dopamine junkies. AI tools can make us dumber in the process. The future is bright for people managing cheap dopamine activities today and using AI in the right way, as a tool. Offload everything to an AI and you will get dumber. (I wrote this post without the use of an LLM, sorry for the grammar mistakes 🥲) I also predict the devide between "the rich" and "the poor" will get bigger or shall I say "the ones in control of theirselves" and "the ones enslaved to consumer society".

So I started this and my X activity collapsed 😂 Seems like my challenge below is a lot of work and no time to post on X. Or is that a lie I tell myself? Are my dopamine hits from X wearing of? Personally, hopping on X daily isn't a 10min activity for me, I always get sucked in.

Introducing Alterego: the world’s first near-telepathic wearable that enables silent communication at the speed of thought. Alterego makes AI an extension of the human mind. We’ve made several breakthroughs since our work started at MIT. We’re announcing those today.

Will we see a dotcom style bubble with AI? On the one hand, there are signs. Inflated expectations, over investments, etc. But on the other hand, AI infrastructure is developping much faster vs the internet. And there are already usecases with real impact in AI. The internet had a reality check for 2-3y, I dont think it is unreasonable to assume we will see a similar peak in expectation and get a reality check with AI. It will probably be a shorter period though.

@maxleedev Execution is fire. But it feels like it is made for a "developer's" mind. Not a general user. Users want as much abstraction as possible imo.

I always thought the future of AI wasn't going to be that dystopian as some people think. But lately, when I have a discussion with my wife, she pops out her phone, asks chatGPT and then it shows I was wrong. End of the discussion. If that is not dystopian..

Most of what we call “business wisdom” comes from survivor bias. We study winners because their stories are visible. Failures fade into silence. That’s why we hear so much about the founder who dropped out of school, read 100 books, or woke up at 5am. But countless others did the same and never made it. If we only listen to the winners, we risk learning the wrong lesson.

me: "Hey claude how long does it take to implement this feature?" claude: "about 3-5h" Claude goes ahead and implements it in 5min, one shot. And people are still saying coding with AI is not increasing productivity that much?

While Google is shipping a new version of Google Assistant on all their devices, Apple is in talks with Google for help. I still had hope for Apple to come back strong, as they mostly do, but now I think they are actually lagging severely in GenAI development. Short Apple.

An AI company in my hometown raised $2.5m this week. Their product is an AI headshot generator compairable to @levelsio 's PhotoAI. Their ARR is $3M PhotoAI is at $1.8M ARR But here is the kicker, PhotoAI has 1 employee The other company has 22... 22! And from what I can see their product has less features than PhotoAI. They raised millions with the promise to revolutionise the fashion industry. But from what I can see, PhotoAI is already going in that direction. It's crazy to see the difference here. Sometimes I really doubt if these big teams and money raises are really needed.

I saw a post on LinkedIn today (I know). The author was claiming we are in an dot com style bubble with AI. -> 'People are not paying for AI' -> Money is flowing away from big tech because of uncertainty in AI revenue -> Usage of AI is highly subsidised -> No advertisement model for tools (economy bad) -> Real usecases are still to be found for AI and could take some time (ref. the internet) What do you think?

UPDATE: 5 products in 4 months Talking to many small professionals, I see an interesting but strange dynamic in the market. Many are actively searching for AI tools to boost productivity. Yet apart from ChatGPT, they are often unsatisfied. The opportunity is huge. But finding the one use case that truly delivers value and gets people to pay is not simple. People are searching, startups are building, and the market is still wide open.

should I work on a course? I've always been quite hesitant many courses suck, I don't want anything like this doing something high-quality is crazy work even if super high quality, is the upside worth it? I mean, if a course is 6 months of work but brings only 1-2 months worth of MRR, is it really worth it?
