@benz145 Also MR is definitely not a type of XR headset…It's what we call a mixed reality experience using that XR headset… I’m not calling my mobile phone “AR phone” just because it has a camera and can do AR…same thing

@benz145 You can make AR content just using a phone! camera required (example Pokemon Go passthru) MR is a bit more flexible as a term, parts virtual environment, parts reality content! But this is not something you can experience from a phone, you need to step into that virtual space.

People who are newly or recently getting into the XR space… for the love of god please don’t mess up these terms because it was painful to get here. Whether the display is optically transparent or not has little to do with it. XR is the umbrella term. All immersive headsets are XR headsets. Meta makes both VR and MR headsets, so you can say ‘Meta makes XR headsets’ if you want to talk at a high level. AR is just ‘most of the scene is real, some of it is virtual’. Magic Leap is an AR headset. VR is ‘all of the scene is virtual’. PSVR 2 is a VR headset. MR is an device/experience that can arbitrarily exist anywhere along the AR <—> VR spectrum. Quest Pro is an MR headset; it can do full AR, full VR, or somewhere in between.

@Shodah10 Mixed Reality is bringing a IRL thing with you into the Virtual world. Like seeing you physical keyboard or your IRL hands. Or your friend sitting next to you in the sofa. You are still immered in VR. How is this pointless? Give it 5 or 10 years! 😄

Got a couple, string me up! Standalone headsets are regressing visual fidelity and forcing new VR users to accept that 99% of content is short tech demos - low retention Mixed reality is pointless, people want to escape reality, not bring things into their limited living space.

@SadlyItsBradley @DiscoVRTetiana My partner got a 5k+ after the kickstarter and as a person with really small face I can confirm the pimax hmds are ridiculously wide! #hammersharkvr lol But it's light, don't be scared to get one if you have a big head!

I get hate, discrediting my work all the time, but it's even more dissapointing when it's not only another woman, but who is also a streamer. Also blows my mind that ppl will genuinely tell themselves that my entire 900k following watches me just coz I wear skirts 😂
