When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies. Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE. Funny how that works, huh?

Hey. Hi. The tests that Trump sent to Putin weren’t just your basic swabs that you have in your home bathroom, they were molecular point-of-care test machines that hospitals desperately needed to rapidly detect infections in a critical time. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic was hurt by long wait times for central lab PCR tests. In hospitals, these delays caused problems with patient care and led to the spread of infections among patients. Trump put America last and Americans died. abbott.mediaroom.com/2020-03-27-Abb…

ALL North Carolina House Republicans voted NO on allowing hurricane victims a 5-day extension to register to vote and a 3-day grace period for mail-in ballots. So much for supporting victims and their right to vote.

@BeerControl You think Spectrum actually has a resilient network? They are just another ISP reseller - so it could be anything. Home it comes back soon!

Climate scientists for years: Unless we address climate change hurricanes will become unimaginably destructive! Republicans: Climate change is a hoax! It’s not the government’s job to control the weather! [enter hurricanes Helene and Milton] Republicans: No one ever imagined hurricanes could be this destructive! Is the government controlling the weather?

Trump just said that immigrants were raping, murdering and pillaging. Welp. Alabama Republican Campaign Chairman, Kyle Lewter was arrested for sexual torture and murder. Not a Haitian. Not a drag queen. Not a trans person. Not a Black person. Not a Mexican. Nope, another disgusting despicable hypocritical Republican. #DemsUnited

Let’s not forget: 1) Pence’s family was with him at the Capitol on J6. 2) Pence’s security detail were so worried for their safety they made goodbye calls to their families. That day could have been much worse if the rioters had found Pence—and Trump couldn’t have cared less.
Katie Phang@KatiePhang

From p. 142 of Jack Smith's filing: "Upon receiving a phone call alerting him that Pence had been taken to a secure location, [PERSON 15] rushed to the dining room to inform [Trump] in hopes that the defendant would take action to ensure Pence’s safety. Instead, after [P15] delivered the news, the defendant looked at him and said only, “So what?""

Hell yes, the same judge in Georgia who struck down the state’s republican 6-week abortion ban has now ruled today that the Georgia Election Board MUST certify the result of November’s election. A huge defeat for fascist sedition loving MAGA and a huge win for democracy. 👊

SCOOP: As Helene approached N.C., Gov. Roy Cooper asked top officials for emergency powers as he mobilized response efforts. Every Council of State member voted yes, except one: Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, who didn’t respond to the request at all. #ncpol wral.com/story/nc-lt-go…

When people in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, and Florida are at the ballots, remember this: Speaker Mike Johnson has not called a special session to vote on more aid to send to Hurricane Helene victims. And none of his MAGA buddies in your state are pushing him to. It is their job to fund FEMA, not Biden or Harris. Vote accordingly. Vote them all out!

actually, the lesson from Helene is the opposite from that being promoted. In 1933, the Tennessee Valley Authority was given the mandate for flood control in the valley of the Tennessee River and its tributaries. Over the next 40 years, they built 49 dams, which, for the most part, accomplished their goal. Whereas floods in the Tennessee were once catastrophic, younger people are mostly unaware of them. The French Broad River (Asheville) is an upstream tributary where flood control dams weren't constructed due to local opposition. Rather than the devastation of Hurricane Helene on Asheville illustrating the effect of climate change, the success of the flood control dams in other sectors of the Tennessee Valley illustrates the success of the TVA flood control program where it is implemented. Hurricane Helene did not show the effect of climate change, but what happens to settlements in Tennessee Valley tributaries under "natural" flooding (i.e. where flood control dams have been rejected.)
Chris Martz@ChrisMartzWX

To all the people going apeshit about Hurricane Helene and the flooding associated with its remnants, whatever happened to the rule “weather ≠ climate”? Does that rule only apply to skeptics who [incorrectly] attempt to use cold air outbreaks or snowstorm as evidence against [man-made] climate change during the winter? Are you exempt from the rules you established whenever the weather suits your narrative? How does this work? Please explain.

This makes it all the more clear how SCOTUS’ unconscionable delay to take on the ridiculous immunity decision was an utter betrayal of our democracy. That the public will vote before this is adjudicated may well be the biggest scandal in the history of the Supreme Court.

I understand the frustration with slow responses for these tiny Appalachian towns. This is a main thoroughfare connecting Damascus, Va to 5 other towns, and the North Carolina line. It’s just gone. Every route is like this in some way, shape or form.

listen up, stupids: John McCain lost his election and fucked off back to Congress. Mitt Romney lost his election and fucked off back to Congress. Hillary Clinton lost her election and fucked off and went home. Al Gore challenged the results in ONE STATE, and when he lost, he fucked off and went home. Donald Trump lost his election and freaked the fuck out and sent a mob of armed morons to the Capitol to disrupt the certification, and he also headed up a ginormous criminal conspiracy to commit election fraud in Georgia, all so he could cling to power — because he's a big fucking baby who can't deal with being the huge fucking loser that he is. and that's why your guy is in deep fucking shit right now
