With small-caps (close to half my longs), I’ve found that it's often worth taking something of a VC mindset when investing. That is, quickly cutting loose positions in firms that are failing to make good on promises and/or showing that management can’t be trusted, while resisting the urge to quickly trim positions after a move higher in firms that are delivering the goods (at least unless the valuation really starts looking stretched), and perhaps even adding to one’s position at a higher price if one thinks recent news warrants it. With larger, more established businesses, it often makes sense to add after a major selloff and trim after a big run-up. And now and then, the same also holds for small-caps. But when you’re dealing with firms that have much higher-than-average odds of either significantly outperforming or underperforming, the risk/reward often favors holding tight with winners that have shared good news and having a short leash with losers that have shared bad news.

We are so short natural gas turbines that we are now doing the 3rd world move of using actual jet engines as combustion turbines...power is the constraint... (NASDAQ: FTAI; the “Company”) today announced the launch of FTAI Power, a new platform focused on converting CFM56 engines to power turbines built to provide the most flexible, cost efficient and scaled solution for delivering reliable energy to data centers globally. FTAI is uniquely positioned as one of the largest aftermarket maintenance providers and owners of the CFM56 engine to bring a new power turbine to the market with production expected to begin in 2026. “The CFM56 engine market is the largest and most reliable in the world, making it an ideal candidate for aeroderivative conversion which will further extend the engine’s life,” said Joe Adams, Chairman and CEO. “At FTAI, we have over one million square feet of maintenance facilities globally and billions of dollars of engines which we believe gives us unrivaled capabilities. After over a year in development, we plan to begin production of the FTAI Power aeroderivative using our proprietary conversion architecture offering the market an alternative to address the unprecedented need for electricity.” “FTAI Power is built on the core belief that the future is electric and that the CFM56 engine will play a key role in delivering much needed power to the world,” said David Moreno, Chief Operating Officer. “The accelerating demand from AI hyperscalers has created an urgent need for immediate power solutions. We believe FTAI Power will be a critical partner for the AI economy, which requires unparalleled amounts of electricity faster and in a more flexible format.” FTAI Power is reimagining the future application of the CFM56 engine and extending the engine’s life through its use as an aeroderivative gas turbine. The aeroderivative adapted from the CFM56 engine will provide the market with a 25-megawatt unit that offers grid operators greater flexibility and finer output control than larger units. With over 22,000 CFM56 engines produced, this power turbine will also bring a more scaled alternative to the market that is much needed as industries reliant on increased access to electricity face multi-year backlogs to secure power solutions. FTAI Power is leveraging the maintenance capabilities built to serve the largest aircraft market in the world to remanufacture the CFM56 core turbine and adapt it with aeroderivative components to offer a fully integrated solution to the power market. By combining its existing fleet of over 1,000 engines with its future engine pipeline, FTAI expects it can predictably and cost-effectively produce CFM56 power turbines leveraging its differentiated in-house maintenance capabilities and parts supply agreements. We believe FTAI Power will have the capacity to deliver over 100 units annually and provide service support solutions that maximize uptime by applying its modular maintenance model to power turbines.

Tough to argue its an AI bubble when everyones revenues keeps rising massively...the only bubble might be in VC funding, but thats Power Law for you. You have to have enough shots to hit goal and the AI model factors in many zeroes. Nothing to see yet, move on.

Extremely speculative, really just a gamble, Churchill Capital Corp announced a deal with Infleqtion, a quantum computing name. I'm not doing any relative valuation because the valuation the industry trades at doesn't make sense to me, but the deal itself seems interesting to me. Heavy buying activity since the announcement, picked up some warrants.

The people wanted a covered calls / option selling mega-thread, a one-click response to all the charlatans out there trying to farm retail investors. Systematically, blindly selling options is a BAD IDEA. Underperforms owning equities by a lot. Let's go through why and how.

AI energy is arguably the best theme right now. Look at all of the crypto miners turning into energy names… $IREN $WULF $APLD to name a few. Energy demand is off the charts. Solar has a chance to be a major energy player in the AI race. Data center power demand is set to double over the next few years.. we don’t have enough energy sources for this. Not only that, but lower rates should also act as a tailwind for solar. China is crushing the U.S. in solar panel deployment, I don’t expect the U.S. to let this continue much longer. Elon Musk, Sunadar Pichai, and other major tech leaders are adamant that solar should be our leading energy source going into the future. Nuclear is all the hype for now but truthfully we’re likely years away from nuclear being a major contributor to energy. I strongly believe price moves before news and the action in solar over the last week has been very notable. I don’t think this is just because of the treasury news that came out. I would not be surprised if in the coming months, a deal is announced between a solar provider and data center developer. Most, if not all of the political risk has been priced into these names by now.. they’ve been decimated. $FSLR is the blue chip U.S. based name of the group… this is the highest quality of the bunch, EPS is set to double over the next year or so. $ENPH $NXT $SEDG $RUN are the other names to monitor. I don’t know when, but I think this can be a big picture trade much like nuclear.
