Vadhvan Port Project Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) worth 9,200 Crores (USD 1 Billion) for the development, financing, construction and operation of container terminals at Vadhvan Port. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Hon’ble Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal. Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT), is a fully owned subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd AG (HLAG). The MoU was signed by our Chairperson, Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, CMD, VPPL, and Shri Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO. VPPL, in collaboration with the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Government of Maharashtra (GoM), has taken a significant step towards empowering the youth of Vadhvan by introducing short-term skill courses at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). The MoU was signed by Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, Chairperson, JNPA and Chairman & Managing Director, VPPL, along with the Director, DVET. These courses are being implemented under the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme, launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, with a focus on enhancing employability through structured, industry-aligned training. The partnership aims to deliver industry-relevant skill development programs that bridge the gap between training and employment, while strengthening local workforce capabilities in line with evolving industry requirements. Vadhvan Port Project Ltd. (VPPL), in collaboration with The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), strengthened its commitment to maritime skill development by confirming 11 students for the GP Rating Pre-Sea Training Course. Confirmation letters were presented to the selected candidates in the presence of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways; Shri Vijay Kumar, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW); and other esteemed guests. The 6 - month training program, conducted by the SCI–Maritime Training Institute (SCI-MTI), is fully funded by VPPL, which is bearing the course fee of ₹2.5 lakh per student to ensure access to high-quality maritime training at no cost to beneficiaries. The course is designed to equip candidates with essential maritime skills, technical knowledge, and industry exposure, preparing them for professional careers at sea. VPPL congratulates the students of Custom Documentation – Batch 2 on successfully completing their course. The 4-week Custom Documentation course, comprising 100 hours of classroom training with practical exposure, equips participants with comprehensive knowledge of customs processes, documentation, and procedures essential for port operations. Vadhvan Port Project Ltd. (VPPL) joined hands with Gateway Terminals India (GTI) by awarding the Letter of Award (LOA) for the implementation of the Kaushalya Nirmiti Yojana Skill Development Program. Under this initiative, youth from the Vadhvan region will undergo a fully residential training program at GTI’s newly developed training centre, aimed at building industry-ready skills. The program will be conducted in batches of 30 students, each undergoing 6 months of structured training followed by a 1-year internship, providing them with practical, on-ground industry exposure.
