🚨WHAT THE HELL?!!! A North Carolina TEACHER AND FOOTBALL COACH, Kendrick Gonzalez lost his entire career... ..because his childhood "best friend" got arrested for a crime... and told the cops HE was Kendrick Gonzalez. The cops pulled up the DMV photo, saw it wasn't him, and they used his name ANYWAY. Now the REAL Kendrick Gonzalez, a North Carolina teacher and football coach, has a "criminal record" for a crime that happened almost TWO HOURS from where he lives... that was committed by his FRIEND He found out he had a "criminal record" when HR called him during football practice, in front of his kids and staff and they FIRED HIM. He lost his entire career. The City of Charlotte just filed a motion to dismiss his lawsuit because: "a DMV photo not matching the suspect's face isn't "conclusive" proof it's the wrong man..." ...sorry what???? So... anyone can ruin your life by giving the cops YOUR name instead of their real name? THIS IS INSANE!!!!

What really bothers me about the redistricting battle going on all over America is how useless it all is. If states would just adopt an algorithm that roughly divides the state by population along major boundaries (rivers, roads, etc.), within ten years people would vote with their feet. You would have “red” and “blue” districts that people self-selected. It’s all noise and nonsense over short term goals. Irritates me…

Sure, it’s “modern” socialism…if you believe, like historian Paul Johnson, that the “Birth of the Modern” was in the 1820’s. There’s nothing new about original sin. The last temptation of the serpent was, “You will be like God.” Socialism is just the manifestation people needing to feel god-like and controlling everyone else.

Shame on me for not knowing that there is a movement called "Modern Stoicism." Apparently there are a bazillion books, websites, articles etc. on the subject. So I did some research. Near as I can tell, Modern Stoicism consists of learning to worry about the things you can control and not worry about the things you cannot control. To me, this is basic common sense and it's unclear to me how an entire industry could spring up around such an easily understandable and fundamental life concept.

@CynicalPublius @DataRepublican You forgot an important aspect of leftwing violence. Because they have suborned the courts and prosecutors with true believers, their violence is often protected by the law.

Let me explain the four major differences between leftwing political violence and rightwing political violence: 1. Rightwing violence comes from the fringes of the conservative movement. Leftwing violence comes from the mainstream of the progressive movement. 2. Conservatives rarely encourage or glorify rightwing violence. Progressives routinely encourage and glorify leftwing violence. 3. Leftwing violence is such a common event that we hardly take notice of it unless it involves assassinating a major political figure--think of how routine Antifa/BLM style destruction of our cities has become. Rightwing violence is notable in its rarity. 4. Leftwing violence is often falsely attributed in the mass media to conservative beliefs. The opposite never happens.

I lost my brother today. Saw him at Thanksgiving, he was just fine. 3 months later he was diagnosed with metastatic cancer with "too many tumors in his lungs to count." Two weeks later he was gone. Please, if you have cancer in your family, get screened. This is the second brother I have lost to the Big C. I'll link one below to a good comprehensive test for cancer screening.
