@StoicCraftsman @TechOperator Spoken like someone who doesn't suffer the ADHD nightmare of having consistently locked their key inside their car, thus incurring hundreds in locksmith charges.

I appreciate simply grabbing the handle to open my car, and hearing the walk-away lock do its thing. Those are nice conveniences, but being without them is overdramatized by evangelists. In cars not so equipped, the simple button presses to deliberately lock/unlock and deliberately *activate* the car are never difficult, never slow me down in any way, and feel *necessary* and safe, especially the Start button. It's OK to want that.

Imagine having to use dials and buttons to park, turn off, and lock your car in 2026.
MidOhioGirl@midohiogirl

@TechOperator Take your seatbelt off, open the door and close it. Its that simple to turn off, exit and lock it.

@Project_RCC Price, hardware limitations on existing vehicles, control of speed/liability So yeah you basically listed all of the reasons.

Everyone is saying FSD is perfect but the take rate is 12%... So I'm genuinely curious? If it's perfect what is holding the other 88% back? Price? Comfort? Weird, unnatural behaviors? Tesla removing features a person 100% responsible for the vehicle would like (max speed, follow distance, etc)? It's gotta be something... It can't be nothing.

@TeslaPatriot Sure. Ok. Show me the simplest modern model. It doesn’t exist. So you can’t say “nobody wants them” if they don’t exist. You can’t say, modern regulations prevent their availability.

A market for a car stripped back to what cars used to be. I think there should be stripped down versions of cars by most car companies. No screens. Manual/mechanical gages. Basic seats with memories. Cars that guys can work on. Fewer parts to break. I think it’s a big market.

Seems like there are a lot of sci fi stories about rogue/evil AIs, but are there any science fiction about helpful AIs? AIs who genuinely like humanity and solve problems that idiot humans cause? Arguably some of Asimov's work fits this, but I can't think of much else.

@jake_theviking I would agree on two conditions... 1) Anyone who doxes any federal agent is automatically sent to prison for life without parole. No trial. No jury. Life in prison. 2) Anyone harrassing or obstructing ICE is automatically sent to prison for 10 years.

Just saw the Democrats proposal for ICE and I actually like it. - body cam - no masks - warrants for arrest - standardized use of force - independent investigations - written in bill to become law What are your thoughts?

@Degen_CPA A bunch of chimpanzees are trying to figure out who's the toughest in the cage. I'm at home enjoying my soup and listening to good music. Winning the game of who's got more banannas is meaningless.

i refuse to believe people with high IQs struggle to fit in with society. You’re essentially playing a game, and you’re trying to say the smartest people playing the game, can’t figure out how to play it? It makes no sense, likely comes from people who think they’re smarter than they are and are struggling.

People say they cannot afford to subscribe to FSD even at $99/month, but they spend $300/month eating out, or $100/month on fancy coffee. Come on people...

@niccruzpatane Because it's an expenditure I cannot currently justify. Would cost me 1k up front minimum to upgrade my hardware to an already outdated version plus a monthly fee or 8k up front.

I don’t understand how you can own a Tesla and not use FSD. • 7x Fewer Major Collisions • 7x Fewer Minor Accidents • 5x Fewer Off-Highway Collisions. It will change your life.

@potatoslav Yeah this is bad parenting btw. Rephrase what you said. What if you realized you were capable of being that .0000001%? Might be insane odds, but really weird you’re willing to take that chance.

i feel like anyone that thinks like this doesn’t have kids. yes, i have left my baby in the car for 10 seconds to grab an order from my hometown Dunkin with no drive thru and a crime rate of .0000001% instead of wrangling him in and out of a car seat to walk 15 feet. it’s not that serious.

You’re given $2m. You have 20 minutes to spend it. You can’t spend it on cars, airplanes, yacht or a house. You can’t spend it on golds or diamonds either. What will you buy?

@Project_RCC He's not camping though. He's passing slower traffic. Erratic lane change moron is the only issue here.

This is a prime example of why you don't camp in the left lane at <70mph when traffic in the left lane will move up to 85 mph. Some people traveling 85 do not slow down and will make risky lane changes to keep moving forward. At 66-70mph you pass and move back to the right. *The car handled this well but also was the reason they person passing on the right even had to do this... @Tesla_AI

Is there a hobby more despised by delivery drivers than home gyms? This guy ordered 2.5 tons of weight plates via FedEx Ground. Meaning the driver had to unload these by hand.

Dont you hate when it’s the wintertime and your car has a blanket of snow on it, it’s 7am, and you just wanna get in your car and enjoy your coffee on the way to work? but instead you’ve gotta brush snow off your car and wait for it to warm up? With a Tesla, you can just tap this button on your phone 5-10 minutes before you leave the house, and when you go outside, the snow will have run off the roof, windows and windshield like someone cracked an egg over your head. And when you get into the car it’ll be like 75 degrees, and you’ll just tap a button and it’ll automatically back you out and take you all the way to work while you drink your coffee. And you won’t have to do a single thing the entire time. These are a few of the many reasons why Tesla has some of the highest customer loyalty. Once you get used to these features, there aren’t any other cars on the market that you’d be able to shop against a Tesla. They become the only game in town.
