Having guardians in schools is one of the most effective ways to ensure highly trained personnel are in place to respond to an active assailant. HB 757 extends the guardian program to postsecondary institutions, ensuring students have access to safe and secure learning environments. Thank you @michellesalzman and Senator Don Gaetz for leading this important effort to strengthen school safety at Florida’s colleges and universities.

Florida has built an education system that delivers outcomes, opens doors to high-wage careers, and strengthens our state’s long-term prosperity. Workforce education is a crucial part of this effort. We have made historic investments in the career and technical education pathways that help young people prepare for in-demand jobs and attract investment to our state. I’m glad to see our efforts paying off. Florida is now the #1 state in the country for workforce education—years ahead of the 2030 target I set in my Executive Order.

The Floridians First Budget Proposal provides $300M for the Safe Schools Allocation, which is an increase of $10M compared to last year! Highlights include $64M for school hardening in higher education and $6M for state colleges and universities to establish Guardian Programs. @GovRonDeSantis continues to prioritize secure learning environments statewide!

The Floridians First Budget Proposal allocates $1.9B to the @FLCollegeSystem, ensuring that all 28 colleges have the resources to strengthen programs and prepare students for high-demand careers. In addition, the budget bolsters $800M in workforce education. Since 2019, Florida has invested $12B+ remaining #1 in workforce readiness.
