If you are a startup founder or work in the VC/PE industries, please follow me here. I run a startup shop helping founders connect with capital and vice versa. I save founders time, money, and frustration navigating the process. And I can help those with money on deal flow.

@iam_biglad1 Bad take. Billionaires are loyal to America because, for the most part, that is where their companies and assets are. The poor, and especially the hateful left wing class, always talk about relocating anywhere but America. Europe, Mexico, you name it.

Hot take: American billionaires aren’t American. They’re stateless. They’ll burn the country down for profit, then relocate to their next playground. No loyalty, no consequences.

@Duderichy Not all "high earning careers" are "short lived careers." Professional athletes, yes. You are correct. But what about doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. The longer their careers, the more money they make.

The problem is that high earning careers tend to be short lived careers, and people who lose their jobs due to layoffs as high earners tend struggle to find same salary level work ageism is wildly common! if you have a high earning career broadly you should be saving a lot
Boring_Business@BoringBiz_

The FIRE (financial independence retire early) movement has done an immense amount of harm to society This is coming from someone who used to be a believer in FIRE, but I have realized just how much of a fallacy it is, as I have grown older Taking a bunch of high potential income earners and convincing them that their life goal should be to pursue a net worth that allows them to check out of society is immensely damaging to the social fabric Many of these people sit on the upper echelon of office jobs, have built great businesses, or are at the top of their field in their career field They should be inspired to continue doing what they are best at, and ultimately, mentor and give back to the next generation who want to pursue those same goals Instead, many of these FIRE folks become wandering retirees with a meaningless life who are trying to grasp on to money as their north star It is a false sense of security and accomplishment. Becoming wealthy should never be a goal in the first place. It should have always been to pursue something that adds meaning to your own life and to society It is a completely fallacy to believe that retiring will be your source of happiness. More often than not, it has the complete opposite effect

@AbakpaJob In certain situations the markets need protection and assistance to do things for the public and private good. For example, what you call "legal protections" are copyright and trademark protections which allow inventions not to be stolen from their owners.

If capitalism is so great, why do corporations need tax breaks, subsidies, exemptions, grants, bailouts, legal protections, and trade barriers to survive? And when ordinary people ask for help, why is it suddenly called socialism?

@BladeoftheS Hochul has enacted a one year moratorium on data centers because she is a tough reelection race this November and needs wacko voters in NYC to support her. She's incredibly unpopular in upstate NYS, exactly where the data center jobs she is killing would be located.

The key to startup success is simple. Build a MVP with a strong proof of concept. That's it. Traction follows almost automatically, just like investor capital.

@ProudSocialist Why should workers own the means of production? Did they buy it with their own capital or ideas? Who should own the factory? The people who invested their own money building it from the ground up, or the guy who shows up one day looking for a job from a Craigslist ad?

They want $350 billion for fighting “communism on our own shores.” This is the single greatest advertisement for socialism and communism. An economy where workers own the means of production is such a threat to the ruling class that they’re willing to spend billions to stop it.

@unusual_whales An election year ploy by Hochul. Data center moratorium is just for one year. In any event, she has not learned a thing since the ban on fracking in upstate New York which has left the state without energy or pipelines to transmit it.

@skumWgmi Living in Florida is far from perfect but certainly not a scam. No income tax is great for retirees. Property taxes are too high relative to other states, but the quality of life in Florida is simply amazing. Plus soon, hopefully, no property tax on primary residences!

4 years of living in Florida and I've come to the conclusion that the no state income tac thing is basically a scam. Homeowners insurance got so expensive after the storms that it eats up whatever I "saved." Some neighors are paying more for insurance alone than they used to pay for their mortgage. We are still paying as much as we would in a state with income tax. You save on gas I guess.
