I’ve been in Islamabad 26 years. Never has the load shedding been every hour on the hour.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy wants Lok Sabha seats to factor in population and state GDP. Sounds clever. It isn’t. Democracy is simple. One person. One vote. Representation is about people, not economic output. Population is the only clean, fair basis. The moment you bring GDP into it, you distort equality. A vote in one state starts carrying more weight than another. That’s not democracy. Also, this logic disappears when it comes to reservations. There, population and social factors rule. Why the double standard? You can’t have two definitions of fairness. Keep it consistent. Keep it simple. Population alone should decide seat share.
