@atRachelGilmore I wonder if this budget actually does reflect Carney’s fiscal sensibility to a large extent. It’s largely in keeping with a lot of the ideas he has expressed or so it seems to me at least.
English

I kept wondering why the Liberals wrote a budget that only really seemed designed to appeal to Conservatives, rather than any other party, given there was no way the Conservatives would vote for it.
But given the floor-crosser-hunter strategy from the Liberals, it actually makes sense to ask:
Insofar as they included elements to appeal to any one party, did the Liberals write this budget to appeal to those potential floor crossers?

@michaelgeller @SarahGrochowski If the terms of the lease have options from renewals that may exceed 30y it may still trigger the tax. The transfer tax system is extremely inflexible even in clearly unfair and unintended scenarios.
English

"The tax stems from a provision in provincial legislation that treats lease renewals for terms over 30 years as if they were property sales, triggering the tax, even though ownership does not change hands"
So why don't they renew for 25 years? @SarahGrochowski

Hey @AudiCanada and @openroadaudi can you explain why a button on my climate control panel that was faulty and snapped under normal use is not covered under my full warranty and why @AudiCanada refuses to even share with me a copy of the warranty terms? One broken button $4200?!

@VanCityNotary @openroadaudi Hello Hassan, we are truly sorry to hear this. If you would like to speak with a member of our Customer Care team, please send us a private message with your VIN #, contact information and dealer location. Thank you

@samanthacp_ Maybe it’s like a psy-op post to confuse and bore us with more gov-too-big scary scary
English

@samanthacp_ Emaciated and anemic sounds redundant even if the words are clearly two different things but feels like they get the same point across. Now, with emancipated it gives off weird Opposite Day vibes.

@GadSaad @Jasonmorgan35 Wealthy guy does not like paying taxes… now that’s a real twist. Thanks for the enlightenment professor.
English

@Jasonmorgan35 Do you think that there might have been obstacles that did not permit me to leave? Instead of being a nasty human being, perhaps post something that is supportive and positive, or refrain from doing so.

I'm about to pay corporate taxes to the Quebec and Canadian government that would take me ten years to save under my professor's salary. I could have used this money to pay for my children's university education (in Canada). The money will disappear, and be used to support "immigrants" to Canada who wish to kill my children. The QC and Canadian governments tax my mind, my words, my ideas, my book royalties, when 99% of the money is generated outside of Canada. Already, from my professor's salary alone, I pay more taxes than 95% of Canadians. Is this a fair system? Is this a moral system? How much taxes can you levy from an individual before it becomes too onerous? @francoislegault @justintrudeau @PierrePoilievre
Our family's future is not here. I hope that by some form of cosmic justice, EVERY CENT that was stolen from the taxing of my mind will be returned to me.

Scoops @Keefe21 :
"The locker room is a disaster, and David Pastrnak is at the center of that. David Pastrnak has told the team he doesn't want to be on a line with Brad Marchand, and it may stem from Brad Marchand calling out Pastrnak for some of his play."😳
Yikes.

@mattsekeres Real question is what were you doing at the mall that time forgot?

@SadClubCommish Petey and jt walking across the lot to their rental car with the music playing
English

What if we sent them on a cross country road trip of some sort? Like Planes, Trains and Automobiles. “Those aren’t pillows!” And they’d laugh and laugh.
Joel Dufresne@joeldufresne
@SadClubCommish They need to go out and party together one night. That would sort it.

@racheldoerrie Wait til Elon is mad at Canada and just pushes the button to turn off internet for rural Ontario.
English

@IRPlawyer While I agree with the premise, the idea that further tightening the powers of landlords will only create downward pressure in a system looking for more loopholes. We need to appreciate that the market will not solve this problem without very severe and unpalatable measures.
English

@IRPlawyer With respect Kyla, I think trying to offload these issues in private property owners is short sighted and misguided. Maybe the government should build some more affordable rentals on the billions of underutilized provincial and municipal land.
English

Pretty creative. You probably learn a lot more by asking this than you would by asking if someone would reach in a toilet and grab money. Uber ratings speak to how drivers are treated and tipping, both of which speak to character.
Arpon Basu@ArponBasu
The Utah NHL franchise was asking draft prospects this week at the combine for their Uber passenger rating. I've heard some weird ones over the years, but this one is just puzzling.
