I was reading Genesis 37 today and noticed something. Verse 4 said Joseph’s brothers hated him, verse 5 said they hated him even more, and verse 8 also said they hated him even more. Then in verse 11, the word changed from hate to they were jealous of him. After verse 11 mentioned that they were jealous of him, the next thought that came to their minds when they saw him was “let us kill him.” I’ve heard some people say they like when others are jealous of them and y’all honestly don’t understand the true nature of jealousy because if you did, you wouldn’t want anyone to be jealous of you. Once jealousy is involved, your life is in danger. When King Saul was jealous of David, he tried to kill him. Cain killed Abel because of jealousy.
