He’s not a prisoner of war because we aren’t at officially at war. From what I receive from SERE, he’s actually a governmental detainee, which changes everything. He’s subject to Iran’s laws, not the Geneva conventions

Let's be clear at the outset: If Iran holds a US pilot, that person is a prisoner of war, not a "hostage." The terminology matters and we should insist that the media use the correct language for the situation.
