Don't rant about pilgrimage places when you start a post like "My parents, who refused to listen to me"... It ended there.

- Following the surprise inspection I conducted at the Government Hospital, Srirangam on 15 May 2026, serious complaints were received from patients alleging that certain hospital staff were demanding and accepting bribes. Based on the findings of the inquiry initiated pursuant to my inspection, the government officers has officially confirmed that four staff members were involved in receiving illegal gratification, following which appropriate disciplinary action has been taken. Two government employees have been transferred, while two temporary staff members have been dismissed from service. The Government led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister stands firmly for the welfare of the people and remains unwavering in its commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. @CMOTamilnadu | @TVKVijayHQ | @BussyAnand #தமிழகவெற்றிக்கழகம்‌

with AI dominating our future, teaching these "micro services" as "life-changing self-work" n making them do their own stuff ll make one rediscover life n live better. Since AI will do our "work" we can do these 2 redefine "life". $0.02 India ll hv a market 4 such education too.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma@vijayshekhar

I bet you've never looked at household “micro services” like this before. From IT services to unpacking suitcases, India’s service market is quite unique. x.com/CNBCTV18News/s…

@TATAAIGIndia There is nothing to look into it specifically. A screenshot from motor insurance renewal and a question regarding that checkbox message and its meaning.

We grew up with something that can be termed as "non-money life" as one of the (but very vital) components of life. It varied so much but everyone had that and their own. We just lived that(didn't analyse/talk/built) and that kept us (keep us) happy n going.
Harsh Gupta Madhusudan@harshmadhusudan

Let me tell you a brief story. Indulge me for a bit. After college, I wanted to see the “real India”. So I worked for a year or so for MIT Poverty Action Lab. In the slums of Delhi and in the villages of eastern Rajasthan. It was an incredible adventure. A Kolkata kid looking at his own country, with the eyes of a foreign graduate. I learnt a lot but there was something I couldn’t quite place my finger on. Later a foreign journalist requested me to accompany him to said villages for a couple of days. He knew I knew folks in that region. He was doing a piece on rural India. When it was all done and we were coming back to Delhi, he said the strangest thing looking outside of the car window. “They all look so happy.” And indeed that was it. The kids in particular looked mostly happy. People didn’t seem that different. Implied in the journalist’s sincere observation was that “they” perhaps should not be happy. But because they were not, in fact, miserable it was a moment of reflection. The poor’s poorness can after all be reassuring to even the best of the non-poor. Don’t get me wrong. Poverty is something very real. India scores relatively low on happiness indices, however dubious they are. Wealth matters. Charity (“philanthropy”) matters. I may not have done as much as you, but I did my bit too. And it is fair to say I am obsessed about seeing India become rich. But money is not the only thing in life. The rich are killing themselves too. Some instantly. Many gradually. Your life is cushy, which is great, but the “hundreds of millions” don’t need noblesse oblige attitude. They just need to be treated like you or me. With empathy and not condescension, even if unintentional. Otherwise the billionaire pitying the millionaire is also par for the course. The average Indian is an order of magnitude better off than a century ago. They will get an order of magnitude better still and this time within a generation. They will be fine. Let us do what we have to do silently. Worrying generically won’t change a thing.

Yet another hot day ahead for the plains of Tamil Nadu. If one observes the Extreme Heat Stress duration plot we can clearly see the Eastward shift with more places in the plains of Tamil Nadu now likely to see upto 6 hours of Extreme Heat Stress (>46°C UTCI). Interiors will continue to see afternoon / evening thunderstorms at many places like yesterday. Places along both Eastern and Western Ghats could benefit from the orographic lift provided by the mountains. No such luck for Chennai which has on Trisulam and Parangimalai in our vicinity.😀

@GanKanchi Not sure but I think you missed "reading habit and/or a hobby/higher purpose)" which would have filled all the gaps and opened newer avenues/friends/life. It will fill it in such a way all these would enable it and make new meaning out for these.

Dr Mouth Matters
Dr Mouth Matters@GanKanchi·
Confessions and realities 42M, 55LPA I am a 42-year-old man with a senior job in IT. I have a house in Chennai, a supportive wife, and two children. On paper, everything about my life looks perfect. I have achieved all the things society says a man should achieve. In my twenties, life felt different. I had friends to spend time with. We would hang out at Marina Beach and Besant Nagar beach, watch movies at Rohini, Udayam, and Kasi theatres, and ride around Mount Road on my RX100. In my thirties, I had colleagues to talk with over tea breaks. We would discuss apartments, onsite trips, and share random stories about life and work. But now, in my forties, life has turned into a quiet routine. My phone rarely rings for anything personal. Most calls are about office work, bank alerts, or someone from home asking me to pick up milk on the way back. The loneliness of a man in his forties is unusual. I am not physically alone, but I often feel like a machine. When I enter my home, I am simply “Appa.” I am the person who pays school fees, fixes the Wi-Fi, and handles repairs. My wife is busy with her work and the kids. My children are teenagers now, living in their own worlds and their own rooms. They love me, but they mostly see me as the person who provides comfort and stability. They no longer see me as an individual. At the office, I am the senior person. I am expected to have all the answers. I cannot tell my team that I feel tired. I cannot tell my boss that I sometimes struggle to keep up with new technologies. I must appear confident and strong, even when I quietly worry about the future. Sometimes I drive home slowly from work just to spend a few extra minutes in the car. I listen to songs from my college days. For those fifteen minutes, I am not a manager or a father. I am simply myself again. I realize that I have not had a real conversation about my feelings with anyone in years. My old friends now exist mostly as names on WhatsApp. We send “Happy Birthday” or “Congratulations” messages, but rarely talk. When we meet at weddings, our conversations revolve around our children’s grades or the cars we drive. We never talk about what we actually feel. The hardest part is that I cannot even complain. If I tell my family that I feel lonely, they look confused and say, “But we are all here with you.” They do not understand that a person can be surrounded by people and still feel like they are on a desert island. Society teaches men that if they provide money and security, they have succeeded in life. But no one teaches us how to deal with the silence that comes with it. I have built a beautiful life for everyone around me, but sometimes it feels like there is no space left for me inside it. And maybe… this is what life in your forties feels like.
