@fecallurgist@SeeSumarry@ennui365 what's the point of creating free will and eternal punishment? he can predict every single action a person will do in their entire life(because that's what omniscience means) and yet he not only subjects them to said life, but allows them to both sin, and go to hell.
@fecallurgist@SeeSumarry@ennui365 yet he is omnipotent and omnipresent... These characteristics are simply not consistent. Your argumentation relies on fearmongering and herd behavior, not on actual logic and empirical proof.
@fecallurgist@SeeSumarry@ennui365 he judges, yet he is omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent? he needs to sort the people who will follow his word and the ones who dont via experiencing the world not via precognition of every event of creation? He needs people to defend and preach his teachings
@LJersey77@StellarArtoisGB in order for it to be possible that a consciousness to affect time before time exists that "mind" needs to inhabit a supernatural plane parallel to the rules of existance, but the only things that exist are the ones inside space-time.
@NJBeisner@Veronic4D you don't seem to be mad at academic medicine being equivalent to witchcraft, or mad at conservative politicians that commit fraud to stay in power, or priests who commit treason to their religion, making it about a business not faith, in order to keep a flock. So yea.
Why are people always surprised Christians believe LGBTQ is a sin?
We’ve been at this for thousands of years. Why is it surprising?
The Bible doesn’t update with the times.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 by the contrary, science updates itself and changes how it postulates things all the time, by people expecing more proof, and noticing the cracks in the original logic, they also find if certain ideas are correct or if they need to be trashed or just improved.
@Varrash1@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 Okay, but then don’t act as if you’re going towards the path the science going.
Science is about action, not about “when they prove it then I’ll believe”.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 you are misinterpreting my words to push your agenda. to you God comes first, to me, our perception of reality comes first, and using it, we crafted the idea of a God. the idea of a God to exist in society has 0 need to be actually real or not.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 Faith can't prove anything. Look, I know my limitations, as a human embedded in just natural reality, I can't access the supernatural layer(if it exists) to see beyond reasonable doubt if it exists or not. All I expect is for other people to have the same humbleness
@Varrash1@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 Bro…think about what I just said…stop being this methodical. I talked about you being interconnected with everything around you. I’m talking about you being able prove it within yourself.
Why won’t you try to find it yourself if that prove needed is in the palm of your hands?
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 But saying God would behave anything like a human being the owner of a simulation just proves my point about big fish, it's transfering our characteristics to a transcendent being that we by definition, cannot understand, or even more accurate, thinking there must be that being
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 If I was the creator of the simulation I'd just prove beyond reasonable doubt i'm the one who has full control of anything, but that is presuming i'd want to reveal myself, which I dont know if I agree.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 it's simple empirical method logic, unless the positive claim, h1 is proven, h0 is the default, meaning, non belief(because you can't prove h0). And I know the empirical method works because everything that *doesnt* need my belief to work, airplanes, phones, the internet etc.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 I already work in another field, as much as this discussion is interesting, my life does not depend on it, but it does depend on the material conditions I can have via my work inside a capitalist society.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 Yes, and to me, it's much more interesting to understand the lives and the context of the people that wrote it than what they were writing about. Jesus the human is a much more awe inspiring icon than Jesus the God.
@ruinydays@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 when given enough proof by those research teams i'll take that into consideration, we had alot of false positives latelly, like how string theory was a field with 0 advancements for the last 10 years.
@Varrash1@KerryMSoileau@kaizen000000000 Not only that. Quantum is proving everything being interconnected. Why wouldn’t what permits that connection be conscious? It leads to consciousness…which is the key of our existence.
You know they’re saying consciousness might be older than matter?
