Either way, it's pretty obvious at this point that things like Graphene, TOR, mullvad, Simplex are all single points of failure because they are leaders at what they do and there's kind of only one that is doing it as good in their category imo So we definitely somehow need optionality and that to be more diverse at the same level or they get attacked and we are out of options

@polyfraggrenade It is a real tracking method, and almost every website does it to some extent. Posting such links to friends is how Google and Facebook, for ex, identify your interests and 'social circle' to better target advertisements. We take care of this at @VectorPrivacy

@guillaumedegail Thanks for the kind words and support, we think with this new release v0.4.0 in the coming weeks you will love it a lot more. 100% on our Roadmap > Voice, Video, Screensharing. We have a functional alpha version called Vectify tested months ago, but focused on other areas atm.

Since when does sending a YouTube link opens a open chat prompt to start DMs and shows the channel it was sent from? (•᷄ࡇ•᷅ ;) I sent a video to my parents and they got prompted to message my Vtuber account (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`) Tested it with Dianko too and yup, apparently YouTube links can carry a source identifier tied to your channel So if you use a personal channel + a Vtuber account, be careful when sharing links with discord friends, family, coworkers, workplace chats, etc… and check that you are on the right one or modify the link ;-;) Good news: Removing the ?si= part the in the URL removes the identifier and fixes the issue No idea how long this has been a thing but I had a heart attack so warning ya ദ്ദി ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ ) I assume it is a mobile thing? Did not test it on pc…

🇫🇷 FRANCE ID AGENCY HACKED “On April 15, 2026 hackers breached the portal of the agency that handles every French passport, national ID card, driver's license, and vehicle registration. A threat actor using the alias "breach3d" posted 18–19 million stolen records for sale on criminal forums the very next day. The exposed data includes full names, dates of birth, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, and account identifiers. If you hold a French identity document, you should assume your data is compromised”.

KYC is not safe for communications, for finance, for medical records, and it will never end well. Cases like this happen a lot more behind closed doors and without the public knowledge. The best way to prevent it is quit using third-party services that force you to comply > 🚫KYC

@VectorPrivacy @enteio Yeah. I've had that issue recently. I think I need premium or something. It's actually more in the backend of it. I don't like the curve choice--secp256k1 (Curve25519 would fit better for this.) I feel that for 1:1 conversations, libSignal is superior, a few other things too.
