40k is a lot cooler when Space Marines are kept to a minimum appearance. Normal Guardsmen against unfathomable horrors yet still persist is way cooler than 9 foot tall walking tanks super soldiers.

My little brother was singled out and bullied by his female teachers because he would bounce up and down when he got excited. We used to call him Tigger. He was a single digit age and they would scream at him and insult him for hopping in place in anticipation of recess or something. It was hardly even moving, imagine bouncing your leg up and down when you feel antsy. He did it with both. They took away his recesses. They wouldn't let him go outside. They took him off the soccer team, his greatest joy in the world. They made him feel like a piece of shit. He couldn't help himself and it stressed him out so much he just started having tantrums in the morning and refused to ever go to school again. The teachers held meetings where they determined amongst themselves that they had done nothing wrong. That my little brother, whose crime was that he felt so much excitement that he couldn't contain himself, needed to be medicated. They brought in some experts who agreed and convinced my mom to start giving my brother anti-anxiety medication at like 10 years old. The life faded out of his eyes. He was never been the same. The tantrums never stopped. He never even graduated school. I hate every single one of them.

The socialization of the public school is the socialization of institutional terrorism. Incels? Gooners? Failsons? Losers? They're all coming out of the schools. They're all educated in public schools. If schools are for improving socialization, and there's apparently a whole crisis of socially maladjusted men everywhere......... uh, why are we looking at it like the maladjustment is spontaneously self-generated out of the aether, and not.... you know..... scrutinizing the source of their pathology? Being a weirdo little freak is usually actually a learned behavior. What's the deal with crediting schools for "socializing" kids into not being weird, and never critically scrutinizing schools as to whether they actually succeed in doing so? Doesn't seem like they're socializing people very well. Zoomers and gen alpha are way more awkward than millenials were, and certainly they're more awkward than the kids I knew abroad. If schools exist to improve sociality, as I'm prone to hearing all the fucking time ("homeschooled kids are weird" people say... but like bro what the hell does weird even mean... all the weirdest most fucked up people I ever met went to public schools.... I fucking met them in public school...). Why is it treated as "pathological" to resent schools? Why is having had a bad time in school treated like a character flaw? People have the reflexive need to pin blame on people who had terrible experiences with school....... but why excuse the schools? It's an institution. Why are we absolving state institutions of blame? Why are we treating them as the ones to be presumed innocent, and their aggrieved students as the ones presumed maladjusted? Isn't that backwards? Isn't the individual the one who is presumptively innocent, and the state the one who bears the burden of proving their case? But we keep pinning evidentiary burden on people on alleging problems with schools, rather than asking................ are the schools actually doing things right? I think it's because.... people are educated in schools... and in the process of their education... the school instills a sense of deference to its authority in everyone, and many people simply never outgrow it. Basically, it's Stockholm Syndrome. Most government institutions are broken. That's barely even controversial. The DMV always sucks. The cops? We just spent a decade on that. The legal system? It being "broken" might as well be a tagline. Healthcare? Enough said. Prisons? Taxation? Immigration? The VA? The ATF? ICE? CDC? The federal reserve? Public schools are government institutions..... but they get treated as though they're immune from all tendencies of corruption, incompetence and abuse. People even argue for abolishing HOME SCHOOLING! Because ohhh that's so likely to be abusive. ...like the government schools aren't? The schools suck, people. They're shit. Objectively, by any measure of analysis. Compare what American schools accomplish, and how they accomplish it, and the price at which they accomplish it..... to literally any other country with an educated population. Russia. France. China. Japan. Singapore. Finland. American schools are shit. All those countries accomplish more. Better. And more cheaply. And they don't have a generation of men grumbling with a grudge against schoolteachers. We do. The evidence clearly points to school being the actual source of a lot of common social pathologies. The evidence clearly points to school failing to educate, too -- everyone is always complaining about how dumb everyone is. They say "uneducated." They call high school graduates "uneducated." .......sorry, so who's fault is it that a high school graduate is uneducated? Why did the school graduate someone it did not successfully educate? School enjoyers don't like it when you ask that question. They'd rather you be blaming the parents. Or the uneducated ignoramus. Not the precious schools. Not the heroic teachers! Get real. Some "progressives" our progressives are. Nothing but regress on the education front and we're supposed to not even notice. But look wow, they're so queer friendly now. It's so important everyone goes to this institution so they aren't weird.🙄 Abolish schools.

ACKS II made it Will, and it’s the prime requisite for divine casters because you need willpower to maintain the strictures demanded of you. Vestal virgins had to be disciplined, etc. Note that this reflects an orthopraxic view of ancient religion.
Night Danger@WithNightDanger

This problem would not have emerged if Gary had been brave enough to make the Prime Requisite stat for clerics "Faith" or "Piety". Trying to divide Intelligence and Wisdom is a fools errand

A lot of immigrants have a hard time coming to terms why Americans just wont accept them and I can tell you why that is in 1 post. It's because the majority of Americans have been voting against it since the early 2000's and yet here you are. It doesn't matter if you do everything right when your existence in the country is a reminder that democracy isn't real and our leaders brought you here against our will and vote. You are a reminder or system is fake.
