@ikerin358 @kokiraee Parts of the fandom see Jin as nothing more than the caregiver/‘mom’ of the other 6 for being a good ‘hyung’ to them. They say that’s all he’s contributed to the group. That’s disparaging to him. That’s a disservice to his own individual self and professional contributions.

That’s okay because he has agency over it. He’s a ‘hyung’ to BTS-a term used to signify brotherhood.

The reality is in every ‘ship’ Jin is a part of he is made to be ‘feminized’ while propping up the masculinity of the other person in the ‘ship’

Not surprised but still disappointed to see 90% of the comments and quotes being heteronormative as hell, forcing their own wishes/ideals onto the tannies, and turning every small detail (brief eye contact, someone being silent for a sec) into a huge deal to fit those ideals

@jmtaecuddles It’s likely that the gender-neutral terms are just meant to make the music more relatable to the entire fanbase, rather than a statement on their personal lives as they moved towards inclusivity. A lot of artists use 'you' and 'me' so any fan can feel like the song is for them.

@jmtaecuddles While they haven't made a formal 'I am straight' announcement, they have frequently used female pronouns and descriptors when asked about their ideal types in the past. For many, that is considered a clear enough indication. With the exception of YG & NJ of course.

@jmtaecuddles They used female gender terms like girl/wife to describe types before. I am aware ppl can realize queerness at a later age but unless the members have said anything different we should take their words at face value and trust them without projecting on them or making assumptions.

@Venaaaaa011 It's important to remember ppl can realise they're queer at a later age, it's not always safe to discuss queerness in public, and they can want kids without that having to be with a female partner. And I really don't know which "heterosexual answers" they have given recently.

@jmtaecuddles Early in their careers they spoke on marriage and kids. NJ’s mindset has changed most regarding it but that can’t be said the same for the others. As for the heteronormative aspect, with the exception of NJ and YG, the rest haven’t diverted from their initial heterosexual answers

@Venaaaaa011 The ideals part referred to having a partner/getting married, but I can see how I worded it vaguely. But Joon has said "boyfriend or girlfriend" in relation to bts' potential partners before, so I don't think it's a stretch to call it heteronormative when ppl say gf or wife only.

@jinjonjwan You say stop projecting your fantasies on the members, but isn’t that exactly what shippers have been doing? You can’t be against the people wanting to see them in relationships but is ok with shippers putting significance behind brotherly actions/words to make their ship sail

im turning 25 in a few days. never had a relationship simply cuz i dont want to??? this could be a mindblowing thing for some but dating/marriage is never the end goal of life. stop projecting your fantasies on the members' personal life. you are just a fan, so stay in your lane
