Went to Naturals Ice Cream on Khader Nawaz Khan Road today. The entire stretch feels like a thoughtfully designed upscale space-open, ambient, with a kids’ play area and walkways paved with cobblestones. For a moment, it genuinely felt like being transported to a European city. why can’t the rest of our roads and neighbourhoods be developed like this?

A tiny sample of the road clarity we wish to see by 2030 — a bit utopian, but nice to imagine. :) A $1 Trillion economy, improved public spaces, and continued social welfare policies could relaunch Tamil Nadu onto the global stage for the next decade 🎇 @CMOTamilnadu @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @TRBRajaa

@UpdatesChennai Need of the hour with so many commercial development in ECR traffic jams can be avoided especially week ends.

By dusk, Khader Nawaz Khan Road—once a chorus of revving engines and flashing brake lights—now belongs to strolling families, window shoppers and café-hoppers. As the 550-metre pedestrian plaza settles into its new identity as a walking-only corridor, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police have gone hammer and tongs against violators: even a momentary halt now comes at a cost. In the last 2 weeks alone, police issued up to 400 challans—each up to Rs 600—and towed around 100 cars. The stretch, home to businesses worth over Rs 1,000 crore, including restaurants, fine-dines and boutiques, was made one-way, with entry only from Greams Road. About 8 traffic personnel were deployed daily from 3.30 pm to 2 am to rein in vehicles halting on the cobblestone walkway or parking on pavements. The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) additionally posted 16 marshals. GCC now plans two Multi-level parking in Rutland Gate 2nd street and at Wallace Garden 2nd street. These can accommodate 100 cars. #KhaderNawazKhanRoad #KNKRoad #PedestrianPlaza #Chennai #GreaterChennai #TrafficEnforcement #ChennaiTrafficPolice #GreaterChennaiCorporation #UrbanDesign #WalkersParadise #PublicSpace #CityTransformation #OneWayTraffic #MultiLevelParking #StreetRevamp
