I will type this slowly for you. Spirit Airlines had an offer from low cost provider Frontier Airlines to buy Spirit, which hasn’t been profitable since 2019. Then JetBlue put in a hostile bid, Spirit ditched Frontier in Favor of JetBlue and the DOJ sued, blocked, etc.
After the failed merger with Jet Blue, Frontier tried many more times to buy and SAVE Spirit Airlines. Spirit’s management and Board of Directors turned every other offer down based on their belief, “we can make it on our own.”
