Man, I made the commitment to not get angry at people here this week but @andrewklavan this is so disappointing. I supported the daily wire as a subscriber for over 3 years and for many years before that. I’m done. Following Jeremy’s advice, “Don't give money to people who hate you!”

First of all, you will not find a people more willing to make fun of themselves as Latter-day Saints. We embrace being a peculiar people. That said, you cannot look at the podcast episodes and articles of @RealMattFradd in isolation. Over the past few years, the uptick of media coverage, TV shows, and social media portraying the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in negative light has become pervasive, and for some reason, socially acceptable in a way not experienced in other faiths. The number of people condemning us to hell is increasing every day. The vitriol led to some of our fellow members being gunned down and our church burned in Michigan just last year. Much of the reaction to that was “that’s a shame, but Mormons are not Christian.” The killer spouted this anti-Mormon hate that Matt Fradd frequently spouts that has become so prevalent and acceptable. Our early members literally were forced to flee the United States of America, which supposedly protected the freedom of religion, after an extermination order was issued against us, and our prophet was assassinated. The federal government refused to uphold the law and protect our God-given rights. So forgive us if we are not willing to give money to people who hate us. I learned that line from @dailywire. Turnabout is fair play.

First, The Infinite Atonement by Tad R. Callister. This is probably the one I’d recommend first to anyone who wants a deeper doctrinal understanding. It’s thoughtful, clear, and heavy in the best way. It helps you see the Atonement as more than forgiveness. It is resurrection, redemption, healing, justice, mercy, grace, and exaltation.

I don’t think we talk enough about how much good writing there is on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Not just books that explain doctrine, but books that make you stop, sit there for a second, and realize how much the Savior has actually done for us. A few that have stayed with me 🧵

I’ve always paid 12% tithing because that’s what the varsity Christians do. 10% is the commandment. The extra 2% is just spiritual gratuity.
