#MofaUpdate🔔: 🇺🇬|🇩🇪 Day 2 of the Coffee Familiarization Trip is underway, as Stephen Mubiru leads a German delegation interested in Uganda’s coffee sector to the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries. The delegation has been received by the Minister of State for Agriculture, Fred Bwiino Kyakulaga who has chaired a meeting and highlighted Uganda’s diverse coffee varieties, emphasizing that the country’s agriculture thrives on rich natural endowments. Fertile soils and a favorable climate that enable crops to grow with minimal intervention as illustrated by bananas that often thrive naturally, reflecting Uganda’s strong agricultural potential. Amb. Mubiru has noted that Uganda–Germany trade stands at nearly USD 500M, with exports to Germany accounting for approximately USD 300M, largely driven by coffee.

My race against three men in a rural constituency just proved that real equality between men and women is still a thing for the future! Even on polling day, the presiding officers on all the polling stations had this to say while directing voters, “ the first basin is for presidents, the second basin is for men while the third basin is for Women!”
The second basin wasn’t for men since I wasn’t a man. True the third basin was for women but I was competing among men.
Where do they pick all those raw presiding officers from! I struggled through out the campaigns to do sensitisation, what exact work does the EC budget on sensitisation do?

Greetings from @RugyeyoFarmLtd. This is how the real coffee value is created in Uganda. The rest are simply freeloading on our farmer backs. A word of caution to those planning on this journey. Since the removal of the regulator with nothing in place to take over, nursery operators have taken advantage of the vacuum to sell anything & everything without fear of consequences. Unscrupulous people have also joined in to rip off unsuspecting buyers. Please be cautious if you plan to buy planting material. SEEK TECHNICAL ADVICE otherwise you will only discover your disaster after 5 years. By then it will be too late. Even if you have nothing to do with coffee, spread the word. You may help someone avert this problem. You can reach out to me here & I will do my best to help.
