@2may2equinox Some of the choices are, at least, understandable. But why change Vargo Hoat's name to "Locke"? It doesn't even sound like a name someone in this universe would have. The removed everything that made the Bloody Mummers interesting.
"asoiaf adaptation fell off when they ran out of material" mind you d&d saw a talking, sassy, magical raven (the coolest thing ever) and never even included it
Cersei is irredeemable for the simple fact that she’s 100% responsible for ladys death. Nobody who does that to a direwolf or sansa can have any good in them.
@Irene_boff@kurzler Caused her to go through the same type of torment, presumably. but what i mean is karmically she deserved what happened. I’m not saying the man who passed judgement was right, but the karmic justice was served, and the judgment correct.
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler yeah and that’s the problem. these are her crimes and we agree, but the point is that those are not being taken into consideration. no one knows or cares that she did this, the crime she’s convicted for is sleeping with men
@Irene_boff@kurzler we are looking at this fundamentally different. i’m not saying the high sparrow was a good guy or anything but i think she did deserve it. not necessarily for the crimes that caused it. But just saying, it was more then having sex. She projected her own crimes onto margery and -
@Irene_boff@kurzler torturing tyrion as a child basically causing him to spiral. ntm ordering tyrions death, causing the decapitation of how many little people? letting sansa be tortured by her maniac son? who tf are you defending bro.
@Irene_boff@kurzler okay, i get that. But we cannot use one negative to excuse another. basically everyone ignores roberts transgressions, while hating cersei for the same thing. but that does not mean cersei didn’t get what’s coming to her. she was ignored and over confident and it fucked her over
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler the double standards with situations that aren’t a even comparable (because robert was so much worse)? that’s why we say that she’s punished for being a woman
@Irene_boff@kurzler yes, i think she deserves it. She is an awful terrible person. just because she is a women does not excuse this. same way robert being the king does not excuse his actions. the problem is cersei is one of the few the actually faces consequences that equal her actions.
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler and I do t care if it’s fictional, if you think a woman deserves to be paraded naked in the streets in front of people that hate her you are a misogynist, so i really hope you don’t think it really
@Irene_boff@kurzler I did not build this world. Yes there is a double standard, but that’s the standard in this world. Robert should have some damn shame. But look at the men in this world. there is 0 shame. just because cersei is the only one who got what they deserved does not make me a misogynist
@Irene_boff@kurzler yeah anyone would want revenge, she was shamed and embarrassed. shame should exist when you act shamefully. that’s kinda like the whole point in my mind. i think she kinda deserved it. it’s a worse punishment than just being executed probably. and
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler no she did not kinda deserve it. she deserved a trial for her actual crimes, she deserved to be executed for treason, not that. “she learned nothing” thank god. if someone did that to me I would want revenge too and I hope she’ll get it in winds
@Irene_boff@kurzler i guess i just don’t understand why you take it that way. the sparrow punished her with the walk for her crimes. what makes you believe the punishment was simply for being a women. because we haven’t seen a man do the walk? please enlighten me.
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler did I say it was her only crime? I know exactly what she did I have read the books yk but again, she wasn’t punished for them she was punished for being a woman and that’s wrong. cheering for that both in the books and in the show is weird idc if it’s fictional
@Irene_boff@kurzler definitely not saying the walk itself was justice either, but she kinda deserved it. not to mention she likely learned nothing from this little endeavor.
@VeryRareRocket@kurzler and that makes her deserving of the walk how? she wasn’t punished for her actual crimes she was punished because she was a woman and that’s wrong no matter what. want to accuse her of something? okay accuse her of killing robert and kill her. not this.
@Irene_boff@kurzler bro she fucked 15 dudes and then lied and said margery and her LITTLE COUSINS fucked a bunch of dudes together. not to mention all the other awful terrible things she has done. and then she begged for her rapist to come save her.
@FeiFemme That's too narrow of a vision, imo. Why not include murder? Is ending people's acceptable? Who decides that, you? Why is Ned seen as good even when the very first thing GRRM shows us of him is how he kills an innocent man? Or does everyone in asoiaf deserve death?
@FeiFemme there's lot of slain-by-childbirth historical characters that could have had any other reason of death without changing the story, but he just doesn't seem to care enough to find another way
