@thekaipullai They thought of digging 6 months back and they sent a digging request for the same. The approval for digging came after 6 months. By that time the concrete road was built. Now since digging approval was given to a big digging shot like Adani, they can’t deny digging🥸

So at the beginning of this year, the entire road in and around my office was dug up because the BMC wanted to concretise it. It is an interior single lane road with ultra heavy traffic and shutting it down caused untold suffering. But they still went ahead as the BMC thinks concrete roads are better than normal ones. Maybe because, they usually get cratered in six months as against the six days for a normal road. Post of a lot of appeals and requests by the industries in and around the area, they finished it in 6 months and opened it for traffic very recently. In fact it was so recent that the flex posters of the local MLA taking credit for the concretization are still around the area. Three days ago, they again dug up those freshly laid concrete roads because Adani wants to lay some underground power cables. For about six months, when the road resembled less of a road and more of an archaeological site of an ancient city, nobody realized that they could simply come and lay those cables. Why do our authorities only realize that they need to do some fresh digging only after they fill the holes made from the previous digging??

Every portal, every website, every app is now so filled with dark patterns that it is now the default setting The other day I had to make hotel reservations for my parents. For stuff like this, MakeMyTrip has been my go to app for sometime now So as usual I selected location, room, dates, made the payment and thought it was done. Then my parents asked me to extend the booking by one more day. Here's where it started First I went to the booking, selected the modify date option and changed the new dates. It then did some calculation and showed me a screen where it asked for the difference. It was Rs 6620 or something. So I paid it. Unfortunately for me, The money got deducted from my account but didn't reach MMT. The transaction failed. So I tried again Somehow the same extension price was now, Rs 7300. Must be an issue I thought and parked it aside. Then I tried again in the night. It was again Rs 7300 Then I had a wild idea. Why don't I make a fresh booking for the same hotel, for the same extension day for the same room and see what the price is? The app showed, surprise surprise, Rs 6700. Rs 700 less than the extension amount. Essentially, Makemytrip for some reason, made me pay 10% more for extending a hotel room as compared to you making a fresh booking, for the same date and property. Why this price differential? Is it because, if you are extending you are already an MMT customer so they want to extract the most out of you in contrast to a fresh booking, where they think you are shopping around so they want to give you the best deal. Only @makemytrip can answer this And as for their customer support, well, they are as useful as a sweater in the Sahara desert
