Democrats want to trick parents into thinking that no private schools will admit kids with special needs. That is just NOT true! In fact, our state has 50+ schools that specialize in students with special needs. There are also schools that offer key support services.

Democrats and leftist media claim that public schools accept all students unlike private schools. The truth? Public schools are not required to accept transfer students and can even charge additional fees.

@GovAbbottPress I’m all for your vouchers paying for transfers to other public schools - who will probably accept a child IF they have space. But, please provide proof of your statement. If public schools are charging tuition, I doubt it’s even close to your voucher amount.

@GovAbbott That’s awesome. But, how many jobs were filled with Texans? How many were filled with people who moved from out-of-state? Better yet, what are you doing to improve Texas schools so that future jobs are filled with Texans? I’m sure the answer to the last question is NOTHING!

@offgridteacher I teach 3rd. This year the struggles are different and mixed. The majority are higher academically, but due to a teacher shortage in the district, some only had long-term subs last year. Those students are struggling with basic skills and discipline.

@GovAbbott An obvious decision from someone who knows nothing about what is being done to students in Texas or the impact it has on educators or schools. Quite frankly you’re talking out of both sides of your mouth only trying to gain favor for certain groups of votes.
