While all types of crime have their own unique dynamics, there are specific considerations for sexual and domestic abuse which should be taken especially seriously. A thorough and robust process of safeguarding and risk assessment is crucial. why-me.org/2021/using-res…

Fantastic to see @SimonFoster4PCC advocating for more Government funding for Restorative Justice. Lisa's story shows how transformative it can be to meet the person who harmed you and explain the impact it had on your life. @RemediRj @WestMidsPCC
WestMidsPCC@WestMidsPCC

Take a listen to Lisa’s story. Now the PCC @SimonFoster4PCC is calling on the gov’t for more money for services, like restorative justice, that can put an end to the cycle of crime and help victims. Full story later today on @bbcmtd. @RemediRj

Really interesting day today in the office @CheshirePCC. Hearing from both a victim and perpetrator of crime who have been through a restorative justice process with @RemediRj was so powerful. Such bravery shown by both to enter into the process!

“Meeting the man who raped me gave me a chance to voice the harm caused - not just to me but to everyone involved - and see for myself if I was at further risk. Since the meeting, life has been better, I generally feel lighter, less afraid and happier.” why-me.org/rosalyn-boyces…

Everyone wants people affected by crime to be able to move on with their lives. But having unanswered questions can stop them from doing this. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to discuss #restorativejustice with a facilitator in order to ask these questions.
