It's only in Nigeria a MBBS student who did a two week special posting in the opthamology unit will think he knows better than an optometrist who studied for 6 years and also goes for residency training on eye pathologies. This madness only happens in Nigeria @Janburji1

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 I've asked u 4 times now Even in countries that run post graduate MD system like USA, Nigerian doctors are recognized as doctors after just the 6 years...

@VictorETumba @Janburji1 You don't merit the title if you hold a Bachelor's degree basically the MBBS. It's an honorary title. How's that an insult ? Your base profession is PHYSCIAN.

@VictorETumba @Janburji1 PHYSCIANs are not doctors. Physicians who are doctors hold MD degree not MBBS. The doctor you get today is given to you by MDCN.

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 It is quite difficult to engage with you at an intellectual level. I was respectful to both professions in my argument, and I did not even call myself anything, yet you introduce insults into it. I don't want to believe you a a health care staff, if you are, I'm not impressed.

@VictorETumba @Janburji1 Don't you think MDCN should give you the Odg title odogwu instead of a doctor you did not merit. In Nigeria MBBS IS A BACHELOR'$ DEGREE

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 As it is in many other countries. Also, u make it sound like it is only in Nigeria that the Nigerian mbbs certificate is regarded. Nigerian trained Dr's work as doctors all over the world, using their 6yr mbbs earned in Nigeria.

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 of a physician which was more lucrative and prestigious So this is not a new thing And physicians are doctors, because the authorities have decided that worldwide, and you opinion on it does not matter. Medical doctors are not academic Dr's, nobody claimed that. Over.

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 A medical student. You are making attacks based on things I did not say You see where there problem is. The name physician is much more prestigious than the title doctor Go and read about how Galileo's father was disappointed in him for being a professor instead of a physi...

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 And there is no basis for these comparisons. I have also noticed that most of these comparisons come from students, not full blown practioners. PS I am not a medical student😂

@NurainYelu @Janburji1 Optometrists do not do surgeries for example, and ophthalmologists do not dispense lenses(I am also not saying they are limited to that) 2. On a very general note, across all specialities, the edge of the Dr is in the fact that the human body is one, and your eye emergenc...

@Osxarrr0 @dr_afo But if they are passing the same licensing examinations with the BSC nursing candidates, should it not mean that they are qualified too?

@dr_afo Until the scrap off that crap called “school of nursing” the profession would forever remain this way. They literally lowered the barrier for entry, how can they be sitting for the same professional exams with BSc nurses. Go to some state you would see 5-10 school of nursing.

Nurses association really needs to set standard rates for their colleagues in private practice. No hospital will offer any doctor less than 2k/hr or less than 350k monthly, which is even annoying. But I keep seeing all these ridiculous offers of 50k for nurses. It's absolutely ridiculous.
