@Victoris1350614 @tricia_amey @Monica55dzrh The average cost of a Big Mac in Denmark is ~ 15% higher than in the US. Workers in Denmark are paid > $20/hr, with benefits, vacation time and healthcare. There is also a 25% tax on the Big Mac in Denmark. Yet the cost is comparable, even less before tax.

We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic..... 🤔🤔

Schools today have students from many different religions and cultures, so some people believe certain foods should be removed to avoid offending anyone.
Others think students should have the freedom to choose what they want to eat, while many feel respect and inclusion should come first.
What do you think schools should do???

English

@MandervilleM @tricia_amey @Monica55dzrh Are you ready to pay 80% more to eat out and tip or just eat the 80% increase in cost in your meal and tell the server you now get a min wage so I don’t have to tip either way tipping the old way or pay a living wage to servers you and I will be the ones paying for it regardless
English

@Victoris1350614 @tricia_amey @Monica55dzrh Restaurants that cannot afford to pay their employees minimum wage should not exist, through bankruptcy or sold to a financially solvent party.
That's capitalism. Stop subsidizing failed businesses.
English

@Victoris1350614 @tricia_amey @Monica55dzrh "your proposal is to stop all tipping then the restaurant closes and you have the largest labor force in the United States suddenly unemployed"
That's not my proposal. There's nothing wrong with tipping; it's an effective way to supplement minimum wage, the lowest standard.

Ok great and what has the 19 years prior to this bill have anything to do with this you better read the big beautiful bill, it allows IRS to “Sample” meaning audit a certain % of filings where tips are main source of income to evaluate if fraudulent reporting is happening without any evidence of fraud just to audit talk need to quit listening to what they say to you and read the bill and understand all the nuances
English

@Victoris1350614 @Monica55dzrh False my sister has never been audited she's been bartender and server for 20 years
English

@0nlyk1tt3n Do not let this man spend one more month in office he is committing the largest fraud against the American people ever perpetrated in US history!!!!!
English

@ShaunFoster81 @Monica55dzrh I got news for you if you get audited because IRS thinks your not reporting all your income they will tax you on the amount that they will say your spending habits show to be lire accurate unless you have documentation for every penny you earned and spent
English

@Victoris1350614 @Monica55dzrh False everything thats reported is all they get taxed on you can't tax someone for money they didn't make employers would have to pay the tax otherwise stop believing Twitter
English

@kevp720 @road37472994 @Monica55dzrh I feel you so start voting out incumbents every election until they decide that they need to listen to the people they were voted into office to be the voice for
English

@road37472994 @Victoris1350614 @Monica55dzrh That is part of the social contract discussion. Americans are expected to subsidize wages through tipping while employers avoid paying more, and we’re also the only developed country without healthcare for all. Comparing peer nations is relevant.
English

You are obviously not looking at the ripple effect of requiring all restaurants to pay all employees kin wage and get away from the system they have been using for 50 years understand I don’t think diners should subsidize the servers wages either but your proposal is to stop all tipping then the restaurant closes and you have the largest labor force in the United States suddenly unemployed for which congress will have to react by funding emergency unemployment resulting in yours and mine taxes to jump expedentualy so we wind up paying for it any minus a place to eat
English

@Victoris1350614 @tricia_amey @Monica55dzrh You don't believe in capitalism? You support taxpayers subsidizing a specific industry by excluding them from wage laws?
Consumers make choices about where and when they spend their money, and losers fail, as they should.
English

@MbarkCherguia This is such bullshit nothing but click bait I wish they would pass a law requiring posts like this have a disclaimer saying it’s staged our AI or reenactment
English

@DBCB1901 @Monica55dzrh Actually, in the long run there is they only get a deduction when they file their taxes. They do not get 100% rebate on all money that was earned by Tips
English

@kevp720 @Monica55dzrh Because that’s a law that the US Department of labor came up with 50 years ago and it’s never changed
English

@Victoris1350614 @Monica55dzrh I think she needs to ask the owners why they only pay $2.13
