I don’t really care about Odyssey discourse. Hollywood is dead. The racial component is transparent and predictable at this point. But one reason everything feels so stagnant is that the most mediocre, unmemorable people seem to get ahead on the strength of artificial, behind the scenes string pulling. It’s not that Travis Scott and Lupita Nyongo are black, it’s that they’re… BORING!
Anna Khachiyan@annakhachiyan

@QuetzalPhoenix I just don’t get why out of all the rappers they picked the most unappealing and unmemorable one. His PR team must be really good.

After I posted that Germany doesn't produce global pop stars I got a bunch of replies consisting of pictures of German guys I've never seen before with '80s mops wearing spandex and the comment "Are you sure about that?"

@theo_nash The part that’s funny is thinking that the right is drawn to ancient sculpture because they’re white in color and then going one step further with a plan, a psa, to educate the public on the history of the painted sculpture as a grand deterrent.

@AlexObviousV1 Japan has a knack for finding what’s best in American culture and mastering it. Look at what they did with something as simple as blue jean denim.

The collision of Japan and right wing America will be an unprecedented ideological mind meld. They have everything we love and want for ourselves and they love us for what we stand for. Can’t wait to see where this goes.

The musical mood. Whether you are a musician, poet, filmmaker (I see it even in fashion designers) - the Japanese for example, are often using a single musical mood. The musical mood is what consumes, almost like hypnosis, and transcends the person. There was a time when I could only create from one type of mood. It’s was very self destructive. It was only later that I could feel the creative spirit arrive in new tones.

@isa2001m @bronzeagemantis Simco is funny, he hides his nature. I’m not sure if he’s conscious of it or not. Either way, it makes for an interesting person to observe.

@intothefuture45 @Babygravy9 This is the divine form of man, it first appeared in dreams, and it’s achievable naturally. I’m all for it if you like the look but notice a body maxed out on steroids, it’s not Greek. the proportions are off.

@Babygravy9 Lol. If this body type can't be achieved without steroids how did the Greeks even know how to represent them in sculpture if they hadn't seen them?

My favourite commentary on the Riace Bronzes will always be Mary Beard's, in a BBC show she did about five years ago. After admiring the statues she turns to the camera and says, "but of course these are totally idealised physiques that simply weren't possible before steroids."
Beyond the Cosmic Veil@ClassicalAegis

The Riace Bronzes are over 2,400 years old. A scuba diver discovered them off the coast of Riace, lying on the seabed about 8 meters deep. They remain one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century.

@bronzeageshawty Scent is very sensual and erotic. The tie to memory is very powerful. I like it. It’s an aesthetic experience that enhances life. You shouldn’t be controlled by it out of fear that you smell bad. It should be an option for aesthetic enhancement.

Wearing perfume is a mark of shame. We have deep shame about who we are fundamentally. We have deep shame and embarrassment over the dirty, raw, primal human experience. Culture has specifically convinced women that we need to be manicured, plucked, fragranced, and groomed into something that deviates from who we are. In using synthetic, unnatural materials to manicure ourselves, we stray from our raw and natural feminine form. We’ve become convinced by industry to be ashamed of ourselves. And what do we feel if we have shame? Insecurity. Embarrassment. In this context, our “body odor,” or natural scent. If we are insecure about who we are, we buy things that alter our natural form, convincing us that it enhances our beauty, or makes us more desirable. But a person without shame is a person not embarrassed of their own body odor. Our natural scent is quite literally a biological component of who we ARE AS A HUMAN. And no self-loving person would be ashamed of that. We all claim to be immune to marketing propaganda. But we’re not immune. They are still pandering to our insecurities, and we’re buying it. The modern day beauty industry is built on the backs of women who hate themselves. To not become a victim of this, you have to love who you are. In its natural form. You do not need a synthetic fragrance to inform you of who you are. You were born perfect.

@VictoryOdes @realKIRAC That's bc cycling is considered a bolshevik and gay activity in the US. Here it's just a mode of transport. Bike mechanics are usually just regular blue collar guys, very chill. But times are changing bc of e-bikes and vegans.

A picturesque moment with my bike mechanic, repairing my big cargo bike in which I move my kids around the streets of Amsterdam: “No one gets wet over one of those designer e-bikes. Not even the women they want to fuck, and with them, you know what I mean, the lawyers and other useless people and their lawyer bitches. And besides, the designer bikes break down all the time, and then they show up here complaining and I have to fix them. I’d much rather sell them an ugly cheap Gazelle. Those Gazelles don’t break down. And it’s the ugly bikes that make women want to fuck you, I can tell you. I fuck those lawyer bitches here in the shop. They like my bike mechanic hands around their waist. I never liked school. I always looked down on people who study. I still do. I still have a very big cock that needs to be satisfied. I captivate those little ladies with my crude language and set up an appointment with her after hours in the shop. They really love that. And I they gossip about it with their female friends, because recently one of those friends came in as well. But I didn’t want her. I choose my own women. There are no tradesmen left, because in the Netherlands we insist on sending everyone to university, only for them to end up riding around on those designer e-bikes. I hope they will lose their jobs because of AI.” These are the ruminations the bike mechanic shares with me. Because we recognize our own kind immediately. He knows I understand his story and will affirm it. Like a homosexual opening his ass to another homosexual.

@NeilShenvi Nietzsche saw Christ as a higher man and actually writes of him respectfully. Nietzsche didn’t like Paul. He saw Paul as the resentful apostle who turned the life and death of Jesus into system of guilt and punishment.

Herclitus said "Aion is a child at play, playing draughts; the kingship is a child's." Pure action, no thought, linear time ceases - no bad conscience, joy, it's pure focus and immersion in a flow state. The overcoming state.
