The 1965 real-life "boys stranded on a desert island" happened, proving that Lord of the Flies was a completely wrongheaded take on the idea. But a certain group of creators really like the idea that humans are really terrible unless some central controlling government keeps us from killing each other. Hobbes started this idea, but it lives on for some reason.
Yes I read the Lord of the Flies, and it had the big impact on me that it does on everyone. It's still a lie.

Can we go back in time where school actually taught us skills we needed in life, how many young men now don’t even know how to tie a Windsor knot? It’s a crucial skill for life especially for formal events and job interviews, should this be required in school?

A thread on what the Calvinist elector wanted gone. In 1616 Johann Georg converted to Calvinism and immediately sought to reform his Lutheran territory. It’s fascinating to look at his list of “no-no’s” that he wanted gone. It gives you a picture of the Lutheran Church as it was.

Liberals were a minority in the PCUS when the PCA split from it. Liberals only became a majority as a RESULT of the PCA splitting from it. How anyone can justify the existence of the PCA is beyond me
