Just experienced the new slippery weather detection behavior in FSD V14.3 for the first time. If the car detects a potential hydroplaning surface, it will limit the vehicle’s speed for safety. It limited the modes to Standard (or below) and reduced the max allowed speed to 70 mph initially. As the conditions got worse, the max allowed speed was then reduced to 65 mph, and eventually 62 mph. Pretty cool to see it adapt in real time.

If you skip some or all of college to start a startup, it's on you to develop your mind the way college would have. And that's not something that happens by default in most startups.

Sucks for an AI agent to delete the prod DB - with no way to back it up - and risk the complete rental business. But the blame sits with the dev who decided to delegate decision making to the AI agent, and then not review actions, just YOLO it. Time for a blameful postmortem...

I’m convinced 90% of the founders job is to just do 3 things: - be delusional in your optimism - push everyone to move faster - make it crystal clear what to work on

You know, ever since 2003, I have hoped for an Indian performance in the finals which replicates that utter destruction of the Aussie first innings. I think this might be it.

Self driving Tesla has replaced the iPhone for me as the most transformative technology of the 21st century. The iPhone has had far more impact so far, but I think the self driving Tesla is the most impressive tech creation of the 21st century.

A masterclass from @jeremyphoward on why AI coding tools can be a trap -- and what 45 years of programming taught him that most vibe coders will never learn. - AI coding tools exploit gambling psychology - The difference between typing code and software engineering - Enterprise coding AND prompt-only vibe coding are "inhumane" i.e. disconnecting humans from understanding-building - AI tools remove the "desirable difficulty" you need to build deep mental models. Out on MLST now!

Anthropic scrapes copyrighted materials online; creates a model that they charge $$ for; doesn’t compensate for use - apparently this is fair? Now Anthropic complains about other companies paying for model access, to create free models anyone can use - and this is not fair??
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

We’ve identified industrial-scale distillation attacks on our models by DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax. These labs created over 24,000 fraudulent accounts and generated over 16 million exchanges with Claude, extracting its capabilities to train and improve their own models.

Grok 4.20 is quite smart but for coding / LaTeX iteration is unusable in the web interface. xAI desperately needs a file navigator system like Cursor or Factory to make its models usable for real work rather than chat

"Creation as a Service" will always beat "Software as a Service". I don't want your lowest-common-denominator software. I want software to work for me and meet my needs. I want platforms and infrastructure. To me, Slack is a good example of an ideal in-between of SaaS and Platform. I have zero interest in vibe coding my own Slack. (It's also particularly difficult software to perfect and scale, and if you disagree you have no idea how to build software 🤡). I do have a strong interest in extending Slack with our own agents. As I shared yesterday, more of our company runs on Slack-based "@" agents. We're making it easier than ever to deploy Slack agents on Vercel, with our AI infrastructure (gateway, workflows, sandbox, etc), starting with @v0. A lot of SaaS might be cooked, but Salesforce has a generational re-birth opportunity with Slack.
