Havertz must start the remaining games of the season if he’s fit enough. Gyökeres is still a liability in general play and doesn’t do near enough in the box. Hugely reduces our ability to go long and cross the ball into the area.

I believe that a midfield trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes, and any one of Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton or Sandro Tonali is good enough to compete with any team in Europe. The fundamental requirement is having at least two alternatives that won’t dilute the quality.

@shaunconnolly85 The eyes test is clear in this Wharton I love as a player but he does not have the legs of Anderson/Tonali. Ugarte has great stats in duels but he is absolute dross. Overall I agree just not on this mate.

@Vik99x Wharton has had a higher duel-win % than Anderson in consecutive Premier League seasons, while also delivering more key passes. Duel % this season has Wharton at 77% and Anderson at 65%. This myth about his lack of midfield prowess is inaccurate. He would complement Mainoo.

@SHABAZGIL He’s a cricketer, not a politician. If he likes politics more, he should quit cricket and focus on that. As a centrally contracted player, he must follow the rules of the contract from which he receives his salary.

@YanitedCynical I hear it but some players take longer to adapt. I think all signings should be given a year’s grace period and that’s what happened. Fred for example, was way better after 1/2 years. Ugarte is not going to ever be good enough. And I say that openly.

@StatmanDave Tonali good passer? This is just not true. He can play a good long pass but is not a pass 1st player. He does not have that ability to control a game. Bruno G is the playmaker at Newcastle. Tonali is a great athlete in the box 2 box role. Good ball recovery and carrying

Would be a great signing but for the right fee. He still has - contract till 2029 with a year extension, we will get fleeced by Newcastle on the price. If I can trust this club with talent recruitment, I would say ignore completely and find a better much cheaper option. Sadly, I know this club. They might not go for him if the price is too high but they’ll get fleeced somewhere else lol
