She was just a teenage girl who wanted the simple freedom to wear what she liked, to dance, to feel the wind in her hair. But the regime forced her to carry the weight of Islamic dress codes until she chose death over a life of humiliation. This is another kind of killing, a young girl crushed by a system that leaves no room for joy or choice. Recently, Arezoo Badri was shot by the morality police for not wearing hijab and is now paralyzed in a hospital. Another woman at Tehran University took off her clothes after being harassed for resisting, and now she is under the pressure of the regime and accusations of mental instability. These are the horrors we women in Iran live every single day. And when we share our pain, some in the West worry about fueling Islamophobia. Please, don’t look away. Islamic ideology is killing us. Iranian woman are fed up with this gender apartheid regime.

This video gave me goosebumps: retired workers are chanting the name of a woman who bravely protested forced hijab by undressing in public. It’s powerful to see the older generation defying the regime’s attempts to silence a woman who used her body to protest against Islamic ideology. This is the Women, Life, Freedom movement—one woman’s courage uniting a nation. The regime should be afraid. The Islamic Republic tried to discredit a woman from the Science and Research University by labeling her “mentally unstable. They are failed. Now, we are all united. Ukraine has delivered 14.5 thousand tons of corn to Malawi as part of the humanitarian program "Grain From Ukraine". Almost 5 thousand tons more will be delivered in the coming weeks. I am grateful to the UN World Food Programme and partners for supporting this effort. We know that Malawi is experiencing a devastating drought this year, which has destroyed a significant portion of local maize production and caused severe food insecurity. In these circumstances, we decided to lend a helping hand to the people and government of Malawi. This delivery of Ukrainian corn will help to stabilize the situation and provide for the monthly needs of over 1.5 million Malawians. Ukraine remains committed to its role as a global food security guarantor, even as it defends itself against Russia's full-scale invasion and attacks on our ports and agricultural infrastructure. Ukraine's goal is not only to provide food in times of need, but also to share knowledge and technology with our African partners to help them become more self-sufficient and independent in agricultural production. This will be one of the main focus areas of the upcoming 3rd Food Security Summit in Kyiv. We rely on a broad representation of African states and other partners at this important event. We can overcome the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine by standing together and upholding the principles of the UN Charter.
