Her name was Philippine de Carlan, a brilliant, affectionate 19-year-old French girl full of life. She was last seen having lunch at the university where she studied economics and financial engineering. Her parents were waiting for her at home to spend the weekend together. He was arrested at Geneva train station while attempting to flee. He was extradited to France, where he has been charged with repeat-offense rape and murder, as well as theft, and is currently being held in pre-trial detention awaiting trial. He faces a possible life sentence.
