Computer science people have developed an unintentional form of gatekeeping by virtue of being extremely bad at explaining/naming things, which results in simple concepts sounding far more complex than they are.

@mikailhamzat Why most people use react is because of the simplicity and minimal code use to build complex things (apart from other wonderful features react has) In this present time, nobody is ready to build an E commerce site with just HTML and JavaScript

Unpopular opinion: 90% of SaaS don't need React. They're mostly forms, tables, filters, dashboards, and CRUD. You're not building Canva. You're building an admin panel. React is brilliant when the problem demands it. That's literally why it was created. But using it for every CRUD app is like using a tractor to water your backyard. Use the simplest tool that gets the job done.

@Damilolawo1a This gap is what you see apps like Brilliant try to bridge. It’s a very simple idea but it’s not so easy as sometimes in trying to simplify you run the risk of oversimplifying and unknowingly introduce misinformation at some point

@Damilolawo1a There are times when I explain something like APIs to non-technical people and the minute I see it click for them I feel a bit jealous that I wasn’t that lucky when I started learning. However just because someone uses or built something doesn’t mean they can simply explain it

One major reason people don’t like tech at the beginning level is the overcomplication of simple concepts. I’ve noticed this is often done deliberately. So many things could be explained very simply, but tutorials, mentors, etc. choose to use big words and unnecessary jargon to make it sound harder than it is to beginners. One thing I do: when a concept is difficult to understand, I immediately tell the AI to ditch the big words and explain it in normal, everyday language and it works like magic. It also makes it so much easier to visualize how a computer actually moves from point A to B.
