Founders, what's the metric you check way too obsessively? - MRR - Website analytics - Twitter follower count - App store rating - All of them, every five minutes

@jasoki No one starts a brand new project in java anymore and that's because LLMs always recommend something else like TS or Python to bootstrap the project. Vibecoders do not care about underlying language. It's all the same to them

Rn I’m vibecoding but nobody can say it looks “vibe coded” cause I’m using my years of experience as a designer to polish it up. That’s one edge that we have over non designers Use this and get ahead asap🫡

Many designers are still in denial about AI You can literally vibecode a crazy app or site with well polished interactions in a day Design was never about Figma or framer, It was about creating interfaces that does the job, Feels good and gives actual result Embrace the change, The transition phase is messy but eventually we are going to enter the gold rush💸
Breeje Anadkat@BreejeAnadkat

this post might feel unexpected, but no one's really talking about it, so i will. a lot of designers are struggling to land new clients right now. if that's you, you are not alone. i'm dealing with the same thing myself. i've talked to 50+ designer friends in my circle, and more than 80% of them are facing this exact issue. if you're still convinced ai has nothing to do with it, i'd ask you to rethink that. it's definitely one of the reasons clients are harder to come by. here's an example. we designed a full website and brand identity for an ai company. banger animations, the kind that make you fall in love with it. they paid well for it too. three months later, they rebuilt the entire site using an ai builder. the new version is sloppy, easily one of the roughest a tool like that can produce. and they're completely fine with it. they're not the only ones. plenty of founders feel the same way. maybe it's the ai hype, maybe it's about saving money, maybe it's something else entirely. but it's happening. there are still designers and agencies landing new clients consistently, usually because of their network, name, or following. but a large number of us are getting hit hard by this shift. no one knows how long this lasts, or if it's a temporary wave or a real shift in how the industry works. i'm not trying to predict that far ahead. i'd rather focus on what's happening right now. some old clients are trickling back. i'm still earning more than i did at my full time job, but nowhere close to what i made last year. so i'm trying new things. i've started posting 4 to 5 times a day across multiple platforms. let's see where that goes. this isn't meant to discourage anyone. it's meant to remind you that you're not alone, since i've spoken with a lot of designers who were seriously questioning their choices lately. be strong, keep going. hoping we all get through this ai wave and start earning well again.

@alexwtlf everyone is a founder! Which isn't a problem in itself. But it does mean the space is more competitive than ever, and ironically, harder to find genuinely good products in.

What's the smallest, dumbest thing that made you completely lose trust in an AI agent mid task? It doesn't even have to be a big dramatic failures, more the small moments where something clicked and you went from trusting the output by default to double checking everything. For me it was watching an agent confidently rename a function across twelve files, then leave the original function untouched in a thirteenth file it apparently didn't search, with zero indication anything had been missed. It wasn't even a hard case, the file just wasn't in the directory it happened to grep first. What was your moment? And did it actually change your workflow afterward, or did the trust creep back in after a week like it always seems to for me?

@levelsio The "modern = touchscreen" assumption skipped right past feedback. Physical buttons work in the dark, with wet hands, without looking. Automation should be invisible in the backend, not forced onto the interface. Decoupling the two is the real unlock.

This is exactly why I hated home automation I'd check in to a hotel or Airbnb and everything would be controlled with these hideous and unusable touchscreen interfaces Oddly or not it's always non-tech people who install these and think their house is now modern, but it's hideous I started liking home automation when I realized you don't need that, and you can have everything work with classic analog buttons while still being automatable in the back with Home Assistant (in my case via KNX) Same reason everyone hates touchscreens in cars, no feedback
Andreas Lehr@shakalandy

@levelsio Using the glass switches from MDT for KNX. Looks great and works great as well.
