Tributes to the Naushera ka Sher - नौशेरा का शेर.🏵️ Today marks the 114th birth anniversary of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, Maha Vir Chakra (P) born #OnThisDay 15 July in1912 in Bibipur, UP. #LestWeForgetIndia🇮🇳 Brig Usman was the highest-ranking Indian Army officer to lay down his life during the Indo-Pak War of 1947-48. He began his military career after graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1934 and served with distinction in various capacities before the partition of India, earning a reputation for his leadership and dedication. Brig Usman is remembered for his steadfast leadership and bravery under challenging circumstances during First Kashmir War 1947-48. As the Brigade Commander of the 50 (I) Para Brigade, his mission was to secure the Line along Akhnoor-Beripattan-Jhangar-Naushera. The #IndianBrave laid down his life on 03 July 1948, and was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra. Brigadier Mohammad Usman’s life is a testament to courage, duty, and sacrifice. His legacy continues to inspire soldiers and civilians alike, reminding us of the values he upheld and the price he paid for our nation's security. #LestWeForgetIndia🇮🇳 Operator Excavating Machinery Gde-I Shivaji Singh, Shaurya Chakra (P), of 156 Formation Cutting Platoon Care 85 Road Construction Company (GREF) @BROindia laid down his life in the line of duty #OnThisDay 14 July in 2006 OEM- I Shivraj Singh was deployed on Hapoli-Sarli-Huri road in Arunachal Pradesh for formation cutting. On 14 July 2006, while doing the extremely difficult task of initial formation cutting in hard rock in the most vulnerable portion on Hapoli - Sarli - Huri road, suddenly a massive land slide/boulders came down from the hill top. As a result, the dozer rolled down to deep valley along with the operator Shivaji Singh resulting in his on the spot death. During the course of his employment, Shivaji Singh exhibited extreme degree of valour and set an extraordinary example for others to emulate. Operator Excavating Machinery Gde-I Shivaji Singh showed rare devotion to duty, selflessness and courage in the face of imminent danger to life and made the supreme sacrifice. The #IndianBrave was awarded with the Shaurya Chakra (Posthumous) 🏵️

In the passing of the legendary playback singer S. Janaki Amma India has lost a musical icon. Her extraordinary singing enthralled generations. Her illustrious career spanned more than six decades, during which she recorded thousands of songs in nearly 20 Indian languages including Hindi, Odia, Tulu, Urdu, Punjabi and Bengali. Her timeless music will always remain valuable. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family and countless admirers.
