🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨 I have obtained new evidence regarding Thomas Massie @RepThomasMassie taking romantic trips to South Africa with two different women: his accuser Cynthia West AND for his honeymoon with his now-wife. There's an important piece of corroborating evidence to support the new allegations made against Congressman Massie today by Cynthia West. West has accused Rep. Thomas Massie of pressuring her for sexual acts, and then retaliating against her after she rejected him. She claims he allegedly got her fired from working at a Congressional office, and later offered her cash, an NDA and hush money to stay quiet. In her sworn, videotaped deposition, she stated that after they started dating in the fall of 2024, Massie took her to South Africa as part of a "political" trip to the country. Through research, I found evidence that Massie gave multiple interviews while in South Africa in late November 2024, which aligns with West's timeline. But, what nobody has reported yet is that Massie returned to the country one year later, in November 2025, for what someone who appears to be a close friend of Massie's described as his "honeymoon” with his new wife. RECEIPTS BELOW 👇🏻 On November 19, 2025, Instagram account "kerrydoesvegas," which belongs to Kerry Welsh, posted a message: "Enjoy your well-deserved honeymoon Thomas Massie, and say hi to all our friends in Joburg & Cape Town!" Kerry Welsh is a retired entrepreneur and longtime Reason Foundation board member. According to his bio on @reason, “He sold his company WelCom Products in 2013 to Las Vegas billionaire Phil Ruffin who— in a touch of irony—is best friends and business partners with Donald Trump.” Kerry’s post was posted at the exact same time Massie was giving a speech at a Libertarian event in South Africa (because he's America First of course!). Weeks earlier, on October 28, 2025, Kerry Welsh posted a casual photo of himself and Massie at Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas, describing the Congressman as "my Sassie houseguest." It appears that not only is Cynthia West telling the truth about the South Africa trip, but Massie found it to be so romantic, he returned to South Africa for his honeymoon with a different woman just one year later. Welsh also attended Massie’s wedding and posted a video of himself at Massie’s wedding on Instagram. Immediately after returning from South Africa, Cynthia West appears to have started working for Massie's close friend, Rep. Victoria Spartz, as of December 2024. @RepSpartz She stopped working for Rep. Spartz in March of 2025 according to records. See records below. 👇🏻 Was this Cynthia West’s consolation gift to keep Cynthia quiet? It sure seems that way. President Trump was right. Massie moves on from women very fast. For more than 50 years, the Southern Poverty Law Center has endeavored to protect those most vulnerable to hate, safeguard communities, and advance the principle that every person in this country deserves dignity and equal treatment.
We are living through a broader moment that demands we name what we are seeing. The organizations and institutions that protect our democracy are under sustained and coordinated pressure. There is a documented pattern of the federal government threatening nonprofit organizations, law firms, and even public servants who disagree with the current administration, a pattern that courts have rebuked repeatedly.
And as with law firms and universities, financial institutions and other intermediaries critical to charitable work now appear to be acting out of intimidation. When donor-advised fund sponsors preemptively decline to process contributions to civil rights organizations, the effect is no different from any other form of targeted pressure. It chills free speech and erodes our democracy.
As funders committed to democracy, justice, and the long-term health of civil society, we boldly stand with the Southern Poverty Law Center and with the broader civil rights community. We will continue to resource organizations defending rights and freedoms. And we will continue to call out the difference between legitimate accountability and the use of government power to silence critics.
Our democracy depends on a vibrant civil society and the freedom to organize, advocate, litigate, and express alternative points of view. We will not back down from the defense of our most vital freedoms.
