@Dzungie007 When one high earner leaves the country it takes away pay for 20 SASSA earners, we have 10k - 20k people leaving yearly ( Which are high earners ). Our economy is shrinking.

@IvynSambo ANC has been failing us, we have 90% of people competing for entry level jobs that has no growth or development. That's why some jobs earn 20 times more than others. In other countries the difference is more like 3-4 times. It's time for a new party to lead.

@IvynSambo Sad to see, and today we still have the education sector fail millions of Africans with poor school standards and not enough funding from the Government. 40% of learners never finish Matric and only 6% get a degree. Thus we have too many people competing for the lowest of jobs.

Guys, apartheid really did a number on the older generation. A month ago, I saw this beautiful garden and wanted to hire the person taking care of it. I hired this old gentleman I guess he’s in his late 50s, if not 60s. He’s a nice guy, gets the work done, and makes my garden look beautiful too. But here’s the problem: he is suffering from what I can only describe as post-apartheid syndrome. Every day he calls me “baas,” even though I’ve repeatedly told him to call me Ivyn. Whenever we go to the garden refuse, he automatically jumps onto the back of my bakkie to sit with the garden waste and I have to insist that he sits in the front with me. Not only that, but when I give him food, he used to sit on the floor until I started telling him to sit on the camping chair. He’s so used to working under apartheid-era white South Africans that his mind still seems programmed for that dynamic. Even with payment, he charged me below the minimum wage. Only my wife and I insisted that we would pay him above minimum wage because we believe in living wages. It’s just so sad to see this still happening in 2026.

@djvlad I think initially it was meant to create rules for morality but as we evolved we realised that our collective moral compass was not correct and thus I think we should rather turn to laws and ethics. Religion is outdated and does more harm than good these days.

I honestly wish religion had never existed. Imagine how far we would be as a species if humanity consistently pursued evidence-based, rational answers instead of constructing narratives around imagined deities.

My observation in Jhb North. The white people have left the suburbs historically known as exclusive rich / white neighborhoods. Foreigners occupied those prime spaces while South Africans languish in poverty at the villages and townships. The country is gone guys

Everyone says "Al will take all the jobs." But if that really happens... how does the system even function? No jobs → no income → no purchasing power. So who's buying products? Who's paying rent? What keeps the economy running?
