They say today is 'World Press Freedom Day', and so we honor journalist Fadi Al-Wahidi, and all 260 journalist executed in broad daylight to hide Israel's genoicde.
Fadi was shot on 9 October 2024 in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza while covering the war for Al Jazeera.
He was clearly identified as press and was working in the field when he was struck in the neck by an Israeli gunfire.
He survived the attack but was critically wounded during this Israeli military operation in the area while reporting on displacement and ongoing attacks, which caused severe spinal cord injury and paralysis.
His evacuation was delayed for months, as repeated medical transfer requests were not approved by Israel for a period of time, despite his life-threatening condition and urgent appeals from medical teams.
